Old style tv, cot and no hot water, rooms are not clean and no toiletries. Every thing is charged even water. Poor room service

location is good, amenities and room services are average, staff behaviour is not very friendly. we reached late night and was misbehaved by the receptionist, he asked to go to a cheap hotel because we purchase ticket from online and not giving him cash directly

Booked this place to stay in the amazing capital city of Colombo, with views facing the might port and set up in the Busines District the hotel with its elegant charm leaves one to wonder about it's greatness. Amazing confortable rooms. dining options could be improved for vegetarian travellers with better options for the price. The staff was very helpful and supportive when I had an altercation with a horrible and rude auto driver in Colombo and also let me extend my stay by 1 hour (Free of charge) and also agreed to hold my luggage with them for 2 hrs. Amazing stay but room cleaning could be improved.

Location and food was good but property is very old and not maintained. Shower was not in working condition, no water in commode tank and water dripping from the AC unit overall not a good experience

As the hotel area is big it’s to much difficulty to maintain and service. Very poor service, hotel staff is very less resulted we need to go to reception counter to ask the service . I will not recommend to stay here. We have ordered Fish curry and they had served us Chicken curry, while I said him that this is a chicken curry , a safe staff arguing that it’s not chicken curry it’s fish curry. I know very well test of Chicken and Fish. He is trying to convince

A true heritage establishment, still maintains the colonial design. Location is close to Fort Railway Station.

The experience was not upto the mark and hotel looks different in real . The room also didnt have blankets no person to help to take the luggages to the room. No hot water

Such a beautiful and Haritage property with such a poor service and maintenance.and breakfast was so bad.please don't waist your money and your memories to stay there

Hotel was ver pleasant and we enjoyed the stay there. It gave a very aesthetic feeling with vintage vibes. Hotel is also located in the center of the city so it is convenient for us to travel around the city for major attractions and shopping

Very old things in the room nearly unusable and staff treat you differently if you are from India they focus more on western guests

Hotel location is good, but when we went the Central AC was not working and every where it was stinking smell and had very bad smell in bathrooms also. We had little tough time managing that day, next day I planned to stay but had to move out ans shifted to Raddison Hotel. While I thought it was pride to be staying in GOH..but had very bad experience

Food & Location - ok Hotel condition being very old Poor rooms Not worth for that money

The hotel is very old and not maintained at all. The bathroom doesn’t have a ventilation so it sinks. Luckily the bed to sleep is good and comfortable however they dnt provide thick duvets unless asked. Only one staff is kept to take care of concierge services so if he is busy - your requests will be forgotten. Doesnt have enough plug points for chargers. Most importantly if you are coming alone- do not book it here as it’s a big hotel and your room will be on 3rd floor in some random corner ( long corridors and too much to walk) The breakfast is good ( not many options but I can say not bad - we had in our menu basics)

I loved my stay at the Grand Oriental Hotel. It was budget friendly without compromising on quality. More importantly, the hotel itself is a piece of history. Getting to stay at such an iconic hotel is an experience in itself. It is also located in a great part of town and is so close to One Galle Face, the beach, Port City Colombo, Pettah and so many other important parts of the city.

Old furniture,small toilet, Lobby and dining hall is super ,old building with Muddy smell in the passage.

The location is perfect - close to all major attractions, railway station and restaurants, the hotel itself is spacious and beautifully designed, with a grand lobby. The room and bathroom was large, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities i needed.
