very bad property. rooms stinking. odour bad in rooms. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years, both for review purposes and general travel, and across the spectrum from hostels to best-of-the-best five-stars. Not once have I encountered a hotel that would give anyone the frankly bizarre impression that they can’t go down to the front desk to make a request. In other words, the problem here is most likely you, not the alleged “bad hotel,” and I suspect there’s quite a bit more to this tale than you merely “going down to ask for stuff.” Did you perhaps go down more than a few times to “ask for stuff”? Or dozens of times? And what, specifically, were you asking for? (considering there’s not a whole lot of “stuff” a front desk clerk can access) Any chance you were bored and decided to pepper the front desk clerk with an endless number of inane queries that have nothing to do with their job or scope of knowledge? Finally, I’m baffled what “then come to check you out” means, but no, you can’t get a refund solely on the basis of “stuff-asking” – and definitely not if you spent multiple nights at the place. When people travel, they forget things. Hotels know this, and will usually keep a stock of common toiletries for when guests ask. The front desk agent may not be able to deliver things you have asked for immediately, or may ask you to come get them. I have a hard time believing though, that they told you not to come down at all. Even if you had become a pain by asking for things repeatedly, most would never say so. If there is something wrong, say so right away. Give them the chance to compensate you. If it's in the evening after t Don’t expect a refund, mostly, you won’t get it unless something serious happens during your stay. If it’s a bad hotel, why did you book it in the first place? Secondly, if there are things you are not happy about, please consider bringing up the issues with the front desk or the manager on duty. They will most likely address your concerns and find a win-win situation that will leave everyone happy.
