Very good hotel
I am a bit confused with existing reviews of this hotel since some of them are very bad. I and my wife visited Krone hotel in Luzern during mid of May, 2018. The hotel is in the old town of Luzern. Don't be fooled with the term "old town". It looks like some piazza (pr square) in the City Center of Rome or Spain. There is no high rise modern building, but the place is very clean and classy. We spent most of our time in the old town. Here is our experience about the hotel.
Location: The hotel itself next to the River Reuss and in the heart of the old town. About 6 min walking from the central train station. About a min from the iconic winding bridge. Lots of restaurant near the hotel. If I ever go back to Luzern, will pick this hotel without any second thought.
Room: The room was spacious, clean and modern look. We booked room with two twin bed since all other rooms were sold out. We received a Visitor Card by email that you can use to ride any train/bus in the Luzern area (and can access to any museums, plus more). The bed was comfy, room temperature was perfect and you can control it. Overall, the hotel was perfect 3-start hotel with all the amenities.
Staffs: The hotel staffs were very courteous. The lady at the front desk helped us to get familiar with the surroundings.
We did not have any breakfast or lunch at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that.

Everything was prefect
Located on the heart of Lucerne
In a wonderful historical place.
I had a one small bed room. And it. As great.
Enough space in the room. Everything was recent clean. Shower recent. Confortable bed. USB plug. Locker. Coffee machine with free caps.

Wonderful hotel in old town Lu....
It is nice sized and our room overlooked a small square. It is a short walk to the lake and very close to many resturants. Wonderful bed and the staff was very helpful. We walked to the lake, the amazing sculpture of the dying lion and many resturants along the lake. Ice machine near the room and large shower. I would recommend this hotel. Don't miss the transportation museum which is one boat stop away.

Heartless staff put old people....
This company owns at least 5 hotels in the same vicinity. One of them Altstadt Hotel Le Stelle Luzern is hard to find, has no instructions on doing check-in (you have to talk to a hotel cook to even find out where to check in, and the instructions are not good if you are English speaking). They booked us in an attic room that was accessed by lots of small windy stairs, and had a sloping ceiling so that it was impossible to stand up in most of the room: only bathroom and near the door and where the bed was, had a full ceiling. We had heavy luggage as we are packed for a month. We are 68 and 71 and both have issues with carrying heavy luggage and getting upstairs required. Check in clerk at Krone had no sympathy and tried to sugar coat the deal by saying it was an "upgrade" to a room with a "view". That view was useless, and in fact, the windows had no cover from the rising sun so we were forced to get up early after having gotten in late and it took forever to get up the stairs and to find out how to get registered. ON checkout the clerk was more sympathetic and knew the room and agreed about the ceiling situation and stairs but could do nothing to settle the situation and also said it would have been easy for the clerk last night to have placed us in a room right at the Krone since they were not fully booked. We are hoping our entire vacation is not ruined from the wear and tear on husband's legs and back. I notice several other people also commenting about the rudeness of these employees. I did not see it before booking as I thought I was booking a different hotel. (The one that was impossible to find under it's name).

Great hotel, great location!
Stayed in a quadruple room with 3 other family members. Plenty of space, modern bathroom, in-room fridge. This is in old town close to just about everything. A block from the Reuss River - literally 2 min to the church bridge. Less than a 10 minute walk from train station. 10 minutes to the lion monument. Lots of restaurants, and shopping nearby. There is a coop supermarket right behind the hotel - great for cheaper grocery items like water, fruit, etc. We did not eat in the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
