Sofitel Hotel Sentosa Singapore

Sofitel's location is undeniably good, but everything beyond that was a complete letdown. The food, amenities, and overall upkeep of the property are in shockingly poor condition. Calling this property a “luxury resort” is an absolute joke. Every aspect of the property reflects lack of maintenance. The swimming pool was poorly maintained, and the lounge areas around it had dirty, stained linen and furniture in deplorable condition. Sadly, this level of attitude wasn’t an isolated incident — the restaurant staff were equally dismissive and unhelpful. Imagine visiting a Sofitel property and having to wait over 20 minutes just to get basic cutlery delivered to the room, or being denied a simple jug of cold tap water because they “only sell bottled cold water,” and otherwise expect guests to chill tap water themselves in the minibar fridge. It was beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable for a supposed luxury resort. The property’s direct access to Beach, which could have been a major highlight, turned out to be yet another disappointment — the beach was under refurbishment and entirely inaccessible during our stay. This critical detail was never mentioned at the time of booking. The only redeeming factor was the property manager, who at least acknowledged the issues, apologized sincerely, and offered complimentary food and an airport drop. While the gesture was appreciated, it hardly compensates for the series of service failures and the overall substandard experience. Adding to the frustration,It claims to offer indoor games, but all that existed were two broken table tennis tables. Our room description also mentioned gaming consoles, but the staff informed us they had none and had no explanation for why it was listed. The property urgently needs serious management intervention, refurbishment, and staff retraining.

Reception was warming. Room was chill. Range of varieties in breakfast. Pool length and depth was really good down swimming. Overall ambience is excellent as you can hear the chirping of birds and moving peacocks around you.

While the gesture was appreciated, it hardly compensates for the series of service failures and the overall substandard experience. To make matters worse, the MMT listing is misleading — the “indoor games” area had two broken table tennis tables, and the “gaming consoles” mentioned in the room description simply didn’t exist. Veg food options were very bad. The property urgently needs serious management intervention, refurbishment, and staff retraining.

Stay at Sofitel Sentosa was wonderful. The food was very good, staff was very courteous and helpful. The room and property was very nice. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you.

Disappointing Service at Sofitel Sentosa - October 16, 2024 While the Sofitel Sentosa hotel property itself is beautiful, our experience with the service was extremely disappointing and felt discriminatory. Minibar Deposit Issue: Upon check-in, staff requested a 200 SGD deposit for minibar usage. Later, when a concierge came to address this, they said there was no need to collect the deposit because they had already emptied the minibar themselves. This raises the question: why ask guests for a deposit on items that aren’t even available? The inconsistent communication and unnecessary deposit request felt like discriminatory treatment. Room Service Confusion: When my wife called for room service, we received conflicting information. First, we were told service was available until 10 PM. On a second call, we were informed it was only available once per day. This kind of miscommunication is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Overall Assessment: Despite the hotel being owned by an Indian proprietor, we felt treated as second-class guests throughout our stay. The property is excellent, but the staff’s unprofessional behavior, inconsistent policies, and what felt like discriminatory treatment made our experience very uncomfortable. I cannot recommend this hotel based on our October 16 stay.

The property located near to the bay in sentosa island , went with large family, everyone enjoyed the breakfast , rooms and view , there is a lot of peacocks around the property, which was stunning to look at , food wise in breakfast we had a lot of Indian cuisine too , so family members were happy, Service was outstanding. Definitely will recommend for ppl who travelling with family!!!

I had a horrible experience staying in this hotel. To start with the front office staff is very rude ( maybe because I was Indian). The property is very old, the rooms, the gates etc. are not to the mark. The drainage in the washroom and washbasin was terrible and noisy. The staff is unhelpful and rude. The breakfast spread is not upto the mark. The location of the property is inconvenient.

The hotel was very nice... peaceful, nice pool and a variety of restaurants on campus.. good 5 star amenities and very courteous staff

It was a terrible stay, my mother had medical issues that’s why I raised a early check in request but after reaching there we had to stand in a queue and wait for around 2.5-3 hrs. There was no option for Indian food

Excellent property. Good food. Thank you for the upgrade. Good connectivity to near by areas. Very helpful staff of the hotel (from concierge to bell boys. All the facilities provided one could think of. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Food as breakfast is food but in general avarge or less, location nothing special it is in santosa which means everything is a 6 min drive to santosa activities, but there is location better in the island, facilities ok stander-ed and average, over all sofital is ok but not value for money and is a bit old needs renovation, alot of delay in the check in !

It is a large, lovely property with well maintained and good rooms. However in my view, it doesn't deserve to be called a 5 star property. Some of the reasons and issues I faced: - poor hospitality and service standards. - Very slow check-in and check-out process. They have only 2 desks at reception to manage the guests. - Reaching out to the operator / room service / in-room dining from room telephone is a task. No one answers the phone call. I had to twice go all the way walking from my room to the reception to get some help. - no 24 hr dining/ in-room dining service available. we were told to place last orders by 9.30 pm. - some staff were impolite - esp the ones at concierge. Couple of issues i faced - (a) there was a Rolls Royce standing near the lobby, which I believe belonged to the hotel. I was clicking a picture of a family member who was standing besides the car. the person at concierge shouted not to touch the car saying fearing that it would leave a scratch. Seriously? just touching the car would leave a scratch? (b) I wanted to enquire about reaching a particular place using the shuttle service and the person rudely tells me that his colleague has just explained it all to a member from our group. He was disinterested in sharing details and was rude in his response. - lack of amenities for kids to play. They do not have a play area/ kids zone in property. They said there is 1 small play room for kids but that is around 10-15 mins away (outside of the main property area and near their Spa) and we have to take a shuttle to reach there. What is the point in having it so far from main property? - the key cards became non-functional almost everyday. It was very inconvenient to walk all the way to reception and get new key cards. In our 2 days stay with 2 rooms we faced this challenge in both rooms each day.

Right from check in(which was at 3pm) they gave me at 10am without even having to request. They were extremely courteous. The room was very spacious, extremely tidy and choice fully done. The property has its own shuttle to take around the area an extremely vibrant property. I would definitely recommend all coming to sentosa and who believe in no compromise stay.

They were simply superb got early check in without even asking for one reached and they gave me a room and upgraded very friendly staff especially the fd charisma) she was very helpful and was hospitable. Room size was superb and facility across were top notch highly recommended hotel in sentosa should say.

Perfect location as all rides to sentosa can be reached by sentosa buses and hotel provide shuttle to station which is very convenient if you want to go to city
