Holiday Inn Express AMSTERDAM - NORTH RIVERSIDE

My experience has been far far from good. The location isn’t one of the wins of this property but everything else is a big win. The breakfast spread was excellent — per Europe standards. Obviously, you cannot expect Indian food but the spread had fruits, multiple hot and cold beverages. Standard bean, and poached eggs. Milk and Cereals. The location is near to AMS station but you will need to take a 1.5 KM walk on flat ground. This is when you want to skip cabs. There is indeed a tram station too but I didn’t explore it and choose to walk. The staff was very nice, the rooms were well equipped. And as per room standards, you will have to buy water to drink otherwise their tap water is said to be apt enough but I opted to go with bottled water. The ferry that takes you across the water from station to hotel side runs 24-7 and is free.

Location would be a 7/10. a few minutes walk to the Metro which will take you Central otherwise Central becomes very far. But the hotel is decent except for a few things noted below: Room and Breakfast was good. The staff was sweet but some of them showed they were going out of their way to do things that weren't actually that difficult to do. There was no room service so even of you want basic toiletries or cutlery, you personally need to go to the reception and get everything. The TV in my room was not working.

It was really amazing to book a hotel in advance for my Amsterdam trip. Once we reached Amsterdam, the hotel was very close to Amsterdam Centraal Railway Station as well as Amsterdam Airport. Moreover, the hotel offered free breakfast; however, Indian food was not available. For Indian food, you needed to find a restaurant, which was very close to the hotel. Our room had air-conditioning problems from the first day, and although we complained several times, the problem was not solved. On the last day, they changed our room. The hotel is very good, but its services need improvement. After 9:30 p.m., no food was available, so one must take care. Overall, it was a very good experience. I suggest booking a cab in advance via MakeMyTrip for your international trips—it will make your journey much smoother.

It was really amazing to book a cab in advance. Once we reached Amsterdam, the driver was waiting for us at the airport. The driver was very good. The hotel is a let down from the brand expected. Room cleaning is not done on most days and the time it is the service leaves a lot to be desired. Room was very spacious and it was a very good hotel in terms of everything. Metro is 12 minutes walk away
