A place as a base
We booked here due to reading previous reviews and especially for the location.
About 20 minutes walk from Centraal Station you can hop on a tram. We chose to walk as everything is flat and so much to see.
The hotel is toward the bottom of the central canal system, lots of shops and bars all around and a shopping centre not too far away (5min walk). It’s great.
The building is tall and has very narrow stairs. Not a problem if you can climb them but no lifts so avoid if you have knee/mobility problems unless they can give you a room on the ground floor.
Our room was at the very top of the building in the eaves. Lovely room somewhat spoiled by the striped tape making you aware of the low beam and what appeared to be a missing mirror on the wall.
The bath room was nice but a little cold due to the time of the year I guess. The shower was good but as it was a wet room, everywhere managed to get wet.
The bed was fine but the pillows very square and very big; too big for me to sleep on so I used the bolster.
We both found it difficult to sleep on a couple of nights due to noise from the street. The window gives no protection from the traffic and student/visitor noise ALL night. I got some ear plugs after the first night which slightly helped.
Staff helpful when needed.
All in all, location worth it, pictures paint a true reflection of the room. Maybe don’t bother paying for the window rooms if you want a good nights sleep.

Nice little hotel
We booked this for a really good price so didn’t know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. Our double room was a decent enough size, very clean and comfortable. It’s around a 20 minute walk from Centraal station and conveniently located for both sides of the city. The hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, but that gives you a good excuse to explore the city. The staff were very helpful and friendly, would recommend!

Very small room, but central l....
The staff was very friendly, no doubt. The room was very small for the price paid but clean. The location was central and without the usual noise issue despite the window facing a busy street. The kitchen and dining area was being refurbished so we couldn't have breakfast but there are cafes next door and across the street.

Unfortunate travel arrangements-cancellation by airline- led to us not being able to stay here. However, great friendly staff over the phone, helpful emails and consideration was given. Would book again. Looking forward to coming to Amsterdam soon.

Great base for exploring
We spent 4 nights at the Dream Hotel. We stayed in room 17, which is in the back overlooking a private square. The room was nice, relatively new, but small. The bathroom was nice but small as well (and no shower door, which resulted in a wet bathroom after each shower). The hotel has no breakfast, no sitting areas and no lift. It’s basically offers a quaint, modern room in which one sleeps and stores luggage. This is a great hotel if one plans to be out in the city. However, this is not a place to stay if one plans to spend much time at the hotel outside of sleeping and basic personal maintenance. My wife and I were busy exploring the city the entire time we were in Amsterdam, so this hotel was perfect for us. It was a bit expensive, but we were in town during King’s Day. We’d likely stay here again.
