A well located hotel, 8-10 minutes walking from Old quarter square on a busy road. Tour bus will pick up from the hotel, and there are a lot of marts such as k circle right across the road. Never felt unsafe walking on the road towards the hotel even at 1-2 am. However, everything else about the hotel has room for improvement. The amenities within the hotel lack of charging points (none besides the bed), we had to keep the kettle on the floor. Broken floor tiles, drainage problem in the bathroom, one day the TV didn't work. Lift starts from the first floor, so you climb up company stairs and then drop off mid-way to any floor take stairs again to get to your floor. Housekeeping staff is unprofessional, sometimes they forget to change the towels, next day no coffee, no glasses, no slippers, no shower gel, they will forget everything possible. Breakfast spread is average just like in a budget hotel. Nonetheless staff at the reception is helpful, they did provide an extension wire for the kettle. They did organize X-mas party on 24th evening with free beers and cakes and lots of snacks (mini buffet). Surely was the highlight. Otherwise, average stay for us. Not to forget they do provide a welcome drink too. Some of the information mentioned about the hotel, such as spa, gym etc. On MMT are wrong because of the name confusion between Royal Palace and Royal Palace 2. Overall, I would say that if location is a priority and if you want to stay on a budget, go for it. We were a bit unfortunate to face several issues, perhaps others may not have so many complaints. However, I would not come back here, will stretch my pockets a little more and get a better hotel (even more closer to the River perhaps) because Hanoi is still not fully equipped with quality budget hotels, unlike Ho Chi Minh.
