Holiday Inn Resort Penang

The location is great just in front of the best Beach of Penang

We went there for honeymoon and it is a Beach Resort. Morning breakfast was great and hotel is well connected with public transportation. Airport bus stops at front of the hotel. Overall it was a great stay and it is a good hotel for couple and family both.

Was there for a short while, view is really good, good restaurants around.

It was a wonderful experience staying at this place. Though I stayed in the tower wing but the view of the hill Side is also refreshing. The staff could be a little bit more helpful in terms of guiding them for local sightseeing and also in managing their luggage during checking out. But all in all a nice property at a great location and price.

Locationwise this place is right in the centre of the night market so you get to directly see the market and do your shopping. The swimming pool is quite deep and I enjoyed that quite a bit. Breakfast has a good spread from local to international cuisine. You can pick your choice. Overall a good stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

The hotel is in excellent location and the view was also very good. Food was also amazing. Clean room and toilet. Just beside night market. Only thing disappointed me was the condition of room and toilet though it was clean.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Batu Ferrenghi and had a room overlooking the sea, you also have hillside facing rooms. The hotel was well equipped with lots of fun activities and we enjoyed playing Snooker and Table Tennis at the entertainment room. The rooms were well kept and cleaned daily, there also was a surprise welcome package of a Non Alcoholic Champagne bottle and a basket of fruits. Only Suggestion would be to check for Breakfast Option while booking, didn't have that option and it costs slight high per person to book it when you are at the hotel.

View was very nice and the staff was very cooperative. Locality of the hotel was near market.

Room was very clean, all amenities were well and good, had a pleasant stay. Beach front, had good time in pool. Very friendly staff, has a tourist help desk. Can get into hop off bus from the bus stop just in front of hotel. Watersports are just near. One can get down to nightmarket just in a min. Overall in the heart of batuferringi

Check-in was quick, front office staff was friendly and we were in our room in 15 mins after arriving at the hotel. Room was big and so was the bathroom with a bathtub. One of the lifts of the tower wing where we were staying is under renovation and that at times takes a lot of waiting to go up or down. They have provided access to the service elevator for use by guests so that is a good thing and reduces the waiting time. Location is right on the beach. Lot of indoor games available. Pool is good. Lot of restaurants nearby but none were great. Long beach cafe which is about 5 mins walk from the hotel is a food court which serves different cuisines at very reasonable prices and most of the food is good. Lot of other stalls nearby and night market right at your doorstep. We stayed for 4 nights and overall it was a good and relaxing stay.

The staff is at their poorest of poor behavior at all times. You gotta be kidding how rude or unruly they can be. On the first night we arrived we requested for a quiet room with the hill view we pre booked the room on a hotel website. How difficult would that be. We were given one on the first floor with a road view. Since the hotel is in two buildings, we went to the other one. The receptionist apologized and allocated the room we already booked. The first receptionist sold us the breakfast since we were staying for 3 days. Her name is S Gowri, said 30 MR will be off of each breakfast buffet if booked at the time of admission. The next day at the buffet was atrocious. We walked in to a full room of people. Mostly middle easterners. We told the guy standing that we had like a table for two. He just told us to sit at one, which we did not like and walked to another one. He just shouted at us that we are supposed to sit where he tells us to. We brushed him aside to get breakfast and by the time we walked to the cereal counter someone else took the table. We just laughed and moved to another table. That same guy shouted at them too! Which we thought was plain rude. I mean being a 3-4 star hotel, you need to conduct business with a certain decency of customer service. What was even more disgusting that those guests left in disgust while the general manager of the hotel, something was right there in the middle of it, talking to just one couple ya da yada. The room itself is not much to rant about. The bathroom booms with noise from next room. If the child cries at 3AM, you had know loud and clear and it is annoying. The only upside to the hotel is the location. It is bang in the middle of the night market and other restaurants. Next time, we even think of going to Penang, we will perhaps choose a Hilton or a Sheraton.

First of all the hill view room was beautiful, as compared to the sea view and value for money is fully attained. It is a serene quiet peaceful place. The morning breakfast buffet at the edge of sea beach is refreshing, even though the weather was cloudy when we were there. Lot of options to eat from the surrounding places.
