Close to Schuman
Liked it, because it was close to my meetings and quite cheap. Main room was a bit strange with very old furniture. Bed room was very good. There is no reception on the weekend. Internet was fast, but had to be paid extra.

Close to EU institutions
There are different types of rooms in this hotel. I spent one month and had like a one bedroom apartment. Living room with the kitchen was ok, but the bathroom was rather small. There were no daily curtains but it seems that this is the way of life in Brussels. The equipment in the living room was with some stains the obviously couldn't be cleaned. But I liked the location because it is close to the European institutions and just at the Ambiorix square.

Lovely location and space, lit....
We stayed here on the first stop on our Interrail trip, we had a one bedroom apartment on the first floor. The apartment was of a really good size, it had everything we needed and the kitchen itself was very well equipped. The living space had a sofa and an armchair and was quite cosy. We had a nice big, comfy bed and plenty of cupboard space and the bathroom was also of a very good size. Additionally, we had a lovely view overlooking the park. The location was great, very quiet and only a 25-30 minute walk to the Grand Place.
The negatives for this place was that our room was a little shabby in places, some of the furniture was covered with a throw to hide some unfortunate stains, the wall paper was coming off in places and there were a lot of marks on the walls as well. It just needed touching up a bit. Also, our room had a small fridge in it which had some soft drinks and water in. The welcome leaflet said that mini-bar prices would be written on the door, as this was a fridge in an apartment and there were no prices written anywhere, we didn't think this was a mini-bar. However, we received an invoice for 18 euros from the hotel charging us for the soft drinks and water. This was a little disappointing as there was no price list in the room and we wouldn't have touched them at 3 euros a pop.

Perfect for pottering
Stayed on after an EU meeting. I used to live in Brussels so I knew Square Ambiorix was close by the meeting venue, but was curious as to what the apart hotel would be like.
Nice, is the answer. I took a room without breakfast; in Brussels you're never far from a good bakery and this is as true of the EU quarter as anywhere. I had a little terrace and a bathroom with full bath, which was bliss after a long hot day of travelling. Yes the keycode system is a bit odd but as long as you're organised and print it or email it to yourself, it's not hard to find. Look for the flags that mark the building. Staff are present til 8pm and very helpful.
The room is clean. Rituals toiletries were a surprisingly posh touch in the bathroom. The furniture is, granted, a little battered in places. This is a clever investment by someone who looks like they've bought an entire apartment block on the cheap, installed more bathrooms and filled it with slightly cast off or bulk purchased furniture to make a hotel, but hey, I've stayed in ones that were far less good value for money. I'm not complaining; this did the job I needed it to.
