Decorative and spacious rooms
The restaurants, museum and opera are all nearby. I liked the interior, my room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Their staff is quite friendly which is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed being there. Spent two nights in the hotel, the room was not noisy at all even though the centre is not far away.

Terrible hotel experience - fa....
This is far from a 4 star hotel!!!! Who on earth rates the hotels?
Firstly, the transport info they provided to us to get to the hotel from the airport was wrong
The bed was very soft, it was like lying on water. We had to double up on spare duvets to feel supported as it was painful for us to lie down.
The curtains were thin and dirty, there was a breeze coming through the closed window and balcony doors.
The heating and hot water stopped working several times during the duration of our stay. Hotel staff spoke very little English so was unable to process the issue swiftly without us having to explain ourselves many times. The technicians were useless, we had several visit, they came and touched the cold heater, shook their heads and left. No further communication from hotel staff.
We were told by the receptionist he will bring a heater but he never did, we had to go down for it ourselves in the end.
On the second day of heating issues, we changed room to a room that literally stank like death and cabbage. We opened the windows but it made no change. The bath also wouldn’t release any of the shower water so stagnated water remained + the curtains didn’t cover the full window area so we were left exposed! So we had no choice but to move back to the original room (!) under the illusion the heating was fixed, but the heating and hot water went again the next morning!
When you leave the hotel, you have to leave the room key in reception which is a pain when coming back to the hotel and the only single receptionist has gone to make a sandwich (!). We were left waiting over 10 minutes.
Breakfast hall looks nothing like the pics - very old fashioned and tiny. Limited repeated food choices. On the first day, there was no staff for about ten mins yet they run out of tea…. and then later a woman arrived wearing blue denim jeans and leather jacket (!)…. I didn’t even realise she was the one and only staff (!). I then made tea to find the milk was off and was floating in my tea!
We also had no kettle in the room. During the day, we had to make tea in this tiny narrow reception hall which was very awkward (another point – they have no lobby area to hang out). We later were told its 50 cents for tea and so the previous teas had been charged to our room without us knowing. We paid for them, yet when we were ready to leave they tried to charge us again!!!! What kind of 4 star hotel charges for tea that you have to make yourself when there are no facilities in the room (!?!?!).

Both times for meeting at University. Very convenient location for meetings, easy walk to museums and opera, decent eating nearby. On both visits, good sized, light rooms, friendly and helpful service, good value.

Cosy little find.
This hotel was great value, we got 2 nights for €100 which is hard to beat in a city. Bed was very comfortable and room was large. Loved the lift which was really old fashioned and had a seat in it. Good location about 25 min walk from city centre. We had a great stay, thank you.

Charming, be aware of room var....
Charming mid-size hotel shared on some floors with private but quiet residential, good location to reach the city centre with tram. All staff are very friendly and helpful.
Be aware of the large quality differences of the rooms. This varies from dark unattractive cell (116), basics (217), old fashioned but sufficient (219), to modern and chique (109). You'll get what you pay for.
The bin collection at 6-7AM (3x week) is unacceptably loud in the east court yard. Breakfast is basic continental; boiled egg, ham, cheese, yoghurt, muesli and cheap cakes, in a step-back-in-time 1980's decor.
Choose this non fussy hotel for price and location, not for luxury.
