Hotel Granvia Kyoto

Amazing hotel. Perfect location. And the rooms had a lot of amenities. At the same time the hotel staff was very helpful.

Great stay

Superb location. Right at the Kyoto station. Trains to all directions from the place. All shopping destinations are located very close to the Property. Grandiose building and very well maintained property. Though a bit expensive, it is indeed worth the experience .

Stay in this hotel to cover destinations like Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe etc. Through the metro or Shinkansen. Lots of food options in the station complex itself with few tourist spots in the station too. Highly recommend this place.

If you are staying in Kyoto for couple of days then this is the best place to stay. Located just outside the station, the hotel provides quick connectivity to all transport systems like shinkansen, subway and buses. Rooms are spacious and some of them even provide an excellent view of the Kyoto tower. Though you may not feel the old style and authenticity of being in Kyoto, but you would be really close to it with added advantage of reaching anywhere in short space of time.

Would have preferred the older cosier rooms. I had stayed on my previous stays.
Have stayed at this place a number of times. It was always in the main wing. This time they said it was the upgraded section but definitely preferred the previous rooms. They felt cosy and plush. This one was just a hotel room.

Lots of cons - a. Most the staff surprisingly room service also do not speak English. b. No vegetarian dish in the hotel. Have not seen this in other 2 hotels where I stayed in Japan both being 5 star. C. Somehow the property lacks the soul of Japanese hospitality and service. d. Many of the stuff they charge for look silly - water bottle. There is also no coffee maker, heater and sachets. No where in the world have I seen this in reputed places! I would say avoid this hotel if you are a veggie and not ready to explore and you are looking for wow service. There are a couple of better hotels around the Kyoto station.
