Perfect location - so central.
Lovely little hotel. Rooms very good size and very clean. Very comfortable beds.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Only two small complaints:
1. The shower pressure wasn’t great. If anyone else was showering at the same time it was poor.
2. There isn’t much sound proofing between rooms. That said, it didn’t bother us too much (it probably wouldn’t have bothered me at all had a noisy resident avoided speaking loudly outside our room at 6am two days in a row! So that one isn’t really the hotel’s fault).
Other points to note:
- the location is fantastic. But it’s Central Rome so don’t expect it to be silent outside if you want an early night.
- there is a charge to use the spa.
Overall, loved it - can’t wait to come back!

Central but quiet
This gem is really quaint. As everyone says, nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. Really helpful with our requests, a mattress topper made the bed really comfortable, thanks. The location is perfect and yet quiet once you close the windows and shutters. Very good glazing clearly.
Can't imagine you finding better accommodation for sight seeing.

Comfortable room close to shor....
We had a really warm welcome to the Borgofico. Arriving on Christmas Eve, we were told that the city basically shuts down for Christmas Day but really it wasn’t the case. Lots of restaurants were open and shops, just not the attractions. It was our 2nd trip to Rome that month, as we had went to the ‘Hotel Aventino’ the first time around. Whereas Hotel Aventino in the Aventine Hills was closer to the Colosseum, Roman Forum etc, the Borgofico Relais & Wellness was a short distance to Piazza Navona (2 min walk) about 10 mins to the Vatican across the bridge on the way past the San Angelo Castle and around 15 to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps.
Borgofico is tucked away in a side street that can be hard to find if you don’t look properly. There is a certain charm to its location - a quaint spot. As far as I’m aware entrance does not have a lift and we had to carry our luggage up a short flight of stairs. This could be difficult for older individuals or those with physical conditions. I’m sure the staff would be happy to help with this if noted prior. Spacious room size, clean and modern. Bathroom tended to steam up easy when using shower as the toilet fan didn’t seem to work quite well - also a little bit of a whiff from the bathroom in general, noticing this throughout our stay. You could hear that it had old school Roman plumbing. There’s a nice monsoonal ‘jacuzzi’ brand shower head that is quite welcoming after a long day of walking around.
A lot of positives about this place, which outweigh the negatives - situational, given the time of the year we visited but important to point out that our Italian neighbours we had within the place were really loud, especially at night. Italians seem to use it for weekend getaways etc. Also, the noise from the restaurants/bars nearby can be a little annoying but windows block a lot of this out. As with all Italian cities, a city tax will need to be paid directly to the accomodation, which is not included in the price of your stay. Worth considering.

Overall, a great stay
I had a very pleasant stay at this property from 9/6/2017 to 9/11/2017. The location very close to Piazza Navona is very convenient to many sites around Rome (the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish steps, the Vatican/Vatican Museums). Martina that works at the property is an absolute gem - she helped make sure we got a taxi after some confusion outside of all our control, she was always ready with a restaurant recommendation, and was overall just fantastic. Breakfast was very fair at 7.50 euro per person and had a good selection. We followed the directions on the hotel's website to arrive there from the Termini train station via the bus and had no problems.
This is a small property (I believe 6 rooms total). There is not always someone at the reception desk so you have your own key to get in the door and then another to get into your room. There isn't an elevator so that may be an issue for some.
