Second time there .

This Hotel is beyond brilliant . The Staff there are wonderful and although they work hard it is a happy and calm place to stay in a comfortable part of Beijing. The first time I stayed there was last August and was a 12 day stay and I have just returned from a two week stay there and I can't thank all the staff there enough for the wonderful work they do there and will defiantly stay there again when I return in September. The rooms are comfortable, very quiet and the air conditioning units work perfectly which is the first time I have experienced that.

Unforgettable anniversary

I've lived in Beijing for nine years and have long been a fan of the Opposite House's cafe (Village Cafe) and bar (Mesh), and even their old basement club Punk (RIP), but had never stayed there. My wife and I took the occasion of our recent wedding anniversary to book a one-night getaway within the city, and had a truly unforgettable experience. The room was beautiful, clean oak surfaces everywhere, with the large wooden bathtub being the highlight. The staff knew it was our anniversary and prepared rose petals and individualized notes, a very nice touch. The food & drink at all of The Opposite House's on-site bars/restaurants are top shelf, so we didn't have to leave the property between check-in and check-out. Got a little soused on Mesh's wasabi martini, recommended. The half-skylit basement pool is also a marvel and a personal highlight for me. Elegantly designed, large enough to get some solid laps in, but shallow and inviting enough for non-swimmers like my wife to wade around in as well. The pool is adjacent to a small but stocked gym (standard cardio machines and some free weights), changing rooms and (gender-separated) saunas, which I didn't use but would appeal if I were staying here on a business trip. Overall it was a fantastic experience, would highly recommend it for a short stay in Beijing, or a getaway from the everyday urban grind if you already live here.

an individual experience

Staying at the Opposite House is a breath of fresh air and a great place to be. the room is airy and light and extremely comfortable without being in your face luxury; the staff couldn't be more helpful without being remotely subservient; and the food and drink is great. so if you are looking for a boutique hotel experience rather than a predictable 5 star chain hotel go for the Opposite House.

Highly recommend

Celebrate our anniversary and was upgraded to a bigger room when check in, staff was so kind to help us setup room with flowers and we received a delicious cake at night time. It’s getting hot in Beijing so we end up spent most of our time in Sanlitun and using hotel facility. Btw they’re a pet friendly hotel, I’ll certainly come back again and bring my dog next time.
