It's a very quiet hotel with good connectivity and tours offered. They have great wifi facilities and good rooms. Shoutout to Mara who was very helpful to us and made our stay more comfortable. They offer a huge amount of tours and we enjoyed it

good but not great
Rooms, we had 2 bedroom deluxe, were good. beds were comfortable. we stayed 10 nights. towels changed, bins emptied & beds made everyday, which was great. staff very friendly & helpful throughout the complex. hotel close to the esplanade, about 15-20 minute walk to main centre of Cairns. easy for reception to call taxi, direct line. never had to wait long & cost is low. about $8-10 for fare into city centre. we were on the 3 floor which was serviced by a lift, & we never had to wait long. Disappointed by kitchen, it should be advertised as kitchenette only. we were under the impression was a full working kitchen. it consisted of 2 electric hotplates. very minimal of cooking utensils. lack of bowls etc for food preparation. no oven, only microwave & the microwave was on top of the fridge, so not necessarily safe or easy to use for everyone. the kitchen sink was in a terrible awkward position, in the corner & had to reach across the washing machine to use the sink. no dishwasher. The dryer cycle of the washing machine did not work. we had maintenance come & was told it needed an element which they did not have. this was also very disappointing as we were visiting Cairns for a childrens football carnival & needed to wash & dry football clothes every day.

Not a review of the hotel but ....
We tried to eat at this restaurant 3 days ago and saw that it closed at 21:00, we arrived at 20:40 and was told that as the kitchen had to do some room service meals we could not have dinner.
We was a bit disappointed but decided to try again later this week. We went back tonight and arrived at around 7pm. There was a few people in the restaurant but it was not busy, there was one waitress working.
We asked if we could sit anywhere and she barked back at us that we had to sit on either this table or that one, I politely asked if we could sit in the corner as where she wanted us to sit was right next to a table of 7 people eating and talking. She again snapped that no we can’t as that table is not prepared! ( the table we wanted to sit on was clean)
All through out our time there this waitress was rude and not very professional. She seemed under pressure but the restaurant was not busy enough for her to be under pressure to make her attitude towards us acceptable.
The reason we went there was because we heard the ribs were realy good, they were good but we left with a sour taste in our mouths because of the waitress attitude!

This was our first stop on a nine daytour of Queemsland and the only hotel in which we got a freshly cooked breakfast which was excellent.
Staff could not have been kinder and more helpful.
The only downside is that rooms and common areas are quite dated.
