I stayed here on New Years eve so the value for money was not good. The property is old, the restaurant and bar are closed and the price was inflated because it was NY's eve. It was still the cheapest I could find in the CBD for NYs eve. The rooms are basic but clean and the common balcony with wicker furniture was nice. The pool was so hot it was like a bath! it needed a shade cloth over it. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Hotel is located on lake street which is a 10 minute walk to reef street terminal or shops and restaurants on esplanade. This property like all novotel hotels is comfortable with all essential mod cons. Breakfast has good selection of vegetarian dishes also

Good well equipped service apartment. Even had a dish washer .. ;) Big super markets are just 5 mins walking. Even indian grocery shop is 5 mins walking. The esplanade and the fleet terminal are 15-20 mins walking. All in all a good value for money. Just a caution no lift so you will have to carry your luggage to 1st floors

Very nice hotel. The location is good but you have to walk very long blocks to the city centre. About a ten minute walk. At night, streets are a little bit dark but locals say it´s not dangerous. The room was very nice, we had a balcony facing the pool area. The hotel staff is friendly but not very informed about activities in the city. Nofree wi-fi, it was quite expensive actually.

Rooms are large, clean and have everything you need, including a good kitchenette. David was an excellent host and was very helpful in providing all the help in booking the tours to the Great Barrier Reef and Kurunda Village. Overall, it was an excellent experience staying at the motel.

You need to plan on a long 45 min. boat ride to the island. If it is in the winter months plan for high waves and ruff riding to get there. Once on the island it is very nice, but plan early for all the day trippers. You need to get to the beach early if you want a chair or they are all gone by 0945 when the island is over ran with day trippers until 1600 each day. Also plan for none of the shops to be open until the day trippers arrive and they close when the last boat leaves for the day. I highly recommend the seaplane tour of the reef. It was a highlight of they island experience.

The resort is just wonderful! It is in such a beautiful setting. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food and views are amazing. The only criticism I have is that the bed and pillows need an upgrade. The mattress was hard and the pillows very flat. Despite that it was a fantastic stay!!!!!

Mantra Amphora does not give any service! They say it's a non service resort which makemytrip has to specify in bold before recommending! For smallest of the things like a tea bag, one has to go to the reception himself/herself to get it! They don't clean your room during your stay! The location was great but no service at all! So not a very great experience!

The rooms are reasonable size, kitchen was well equipped. Despite the hotel's age bathroom seemed recently renovated and up to nowadays standard. Washer and dryer were also nearly new. Pool looked nice, however we haven't have a chance to test it out. BBQ facility is available right by the pool. Hotel is well situated in relation to the airport - it is cheaper to take a taxi than the Sun Palm bus (if you are not traveling alone that is). Downtown Cairns is about 20 minute walk. The local bus stops nearly in front of the hotel entrance, however travels through 2 zones to get there, therefore the fare is a bit higher than it could be. Bottom line: We were very satisfied with our choice to stay at Tropic Towers and shall we visit Cairns in the future, we will stay at Tropic Towers again.

My wife, our 2 kids and I stayed for 13 nights at Marlin Cove in a 2 bedroom room in Oct/Nov 2014. From arrival to departure, it was a great place to stay. We were given a very friendly and informative welcome on day1, and when we opened the door to our room, my wife and I were most impressed with the cleanliness. The kids loved their room and separate shower. There was a balcony where we would have dinner on most nights. The lagoon pool was a favorite for our kids aged 12 and 6, and we often had a BBQ in the same area. We played tennis at Marlin cove as well. Our room was given a tidy up after seven days. Nothing bad to say about our stay. We all thoroughly enjoyed the pools and tennis, and often walked to the beach which was a 5 minute walk away. A number of restaurants also at Trinity beach if you are feeling the hunger pains. Thanks Marlin Cove Resort for a great time. Our first time to Cairns was a great experience, and our stay at your hotel was definitely a big contributor to our fun time.
