Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium

We are a family of three with a less than a year old baby and had a late flight and arrived at the hotel at 5am. I made the booking for the hotel well in advance for one night just to rest and bathe as we had an afternoon flight to catch. The problem ensued as the room assigned to us did not have a bathtub when I clearly booked a room with one, but apparently according to the receptionist was an upgrade. After I raised the issue, they moved us to a room on the smoking floor, which was still not the room that I booked, this one had a queen size bed but the receptionist insisted that it was King size, much to my dismay, it was 6am in the morning and I had just put our baby to sleep, I gave up. I did not have the energy to argue over the size of the bed, I have pictures to prove that it was a queen size bed. Minutes later, the room started reeking of marijuana. As we tried to sleep, the smell just got stronger, so we requested to change our room. The receptionist agreed for the change but stated that we could not request for a room change anymore. The third and the last room that was assigned was finally the room that I had originally booked! It was 7am! What was the whole point of paying for a room and not getting it. This was the most harrowing experience in the history of all the vacations combined in my lifetime! To go through all that with an infant, at that hour with the baggage that we were travelling was uncalled for at the start of our Thailand trip for our baby’s first birthday! What a horrible horrible service! We will never ever come back to this disgusting Hotel! We skipped the complimentary breakfast. Thank you for making us run around in your hotel for hours in the wee morning!

Very poor and irritatingly slow check-in process. Very cold and dispassionate behaviour by hotel staff specifically by front office staff and generally by most of them. Let me explain by a couple of examples:- I had a booking of three rooms and we reached the hotel around 4:30 p.m. I was very discourteously told that we rooms will be ready only by 5:30 p.m. I failed to understand that if we check in time is 3:00 p.m. then what should make them not be ready by 5:30 p.m.!!!! Secondly, my son was at the omelette counter around 10:25 a.m. and there were couple of people in front of him in the queue. By the time his turn came, the clock showed 10:30 a.m. and the chef at the counter refused to give omelette to him saying that the counter is now closed and that he will not make an omelette for him. The whole experience was pathetic and we left the hotel after 2 nights whereas we were to stay in Bangkok for another 3 nights. We shiftwd to a relatively newer property which was almost 40% higher than Grand Mercure but we feel it was the right decision to have left the Grand Mercure. Stay at Grand Mercure even at a lower price was a complete 'waste of money' where as staying at a property 40% higher than the Grand Mercure was 'value for money'!

Good Hotel for a refined experience. Good Infra and central city location. Near to the best malls of the city.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Bad rooms and sub standard bathrooms. Leaking bathtub. Smelly carpets in rooms

Terrible experience in terms of hospitality. I was asked to deposit as a security deposit. My luggage didn’t arrive even after half an hour, despite calling three times. The bathroom smelled like sewage, and I had to cover the water drain with a towel to reduce the smell. The shower made a very loud thudding noise, and the room was not up to the standard of a 5-star property. I would rate it 2.5–3 out of 5 at most. The only thing I liked during my stay was the concierge—they were really helpful with a lot of other matters. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at the usual rate; maybe consider it only if you get a decent discount. There are plenty of better options at this price range and in a better location.

We had a super duper stay at the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium, the location of the hotel was amazing connecting almost all nearby attractions. The wide varieties in breakfast were damn amazing. The pool size is a bit average but it is well maintained. Very good amenities and a great and beautiful lobby. Very much recommended

Great location and well maintained hotel. Accor doesn’t fail. Rooms are spacious and maybe the restroom can be quieter bigger. The swimming pool was deep and top notch

The hotel location was good but I feel the staff was not very generous. We reached 2 hrs early at the hotel and requested for early check in but they denied stating room was not clean n all but after half hour I asked them again n they have provided the room

I stayed here for 3 nights from sept 30th to oct 2nd 2025. Below is my honest review for different aspects of this property. Location: 1.2 km and 12 mins walk away from nearest MRT station and the airport rail. This is the most well connected hotel in the area with a Bus stop right at its entrance and the canal pier just 300 m away. Rooms: The property is about 30 years old but the rooms are in a good condition. I chose the basic category of room since I spent most of my time exploring the city. The room is quite spacious with all the necessary amenities and a great view of the city and the canal. Gym: A huge gym with all the equipment you can think of and with 24 hours access. Pool: Small in size considering the amount of guests the hotel hosts. preferred by Indians: You will find a lot of indian guests in this hotel due to its connectivity and the indian food options offered during breakfast. For lunch and dinner I would recommend getting your food delivered from Grab as there are some good indian restaurants nearby. Hotel Shuttle: Hotel provides shuttle to the nearest MRT station every hour and to the shopping mall twice (11 am and 2pm). Secret Hack for travel: use local bus or the canal boats for travel. they are super cheap and well connected to all important tourist attractions. explore these options via google maps. jts super accurate as all the buses are gps enabled

I really faced an issue and staffs were not corperative as i asked the staffs not to laundry my clothes after i show the amount for the laundry and they asked to pay in advance but I didn’t pay in advance still they laundry my clothes and took the amount
