Classic styled hotel with outs....

We booked a 3 star hotel in the centre of Zermatt but due to the overbooking we were upgraded to this classical five star hotel. Really incredible luxerious and well organized en lead. What impressed was the fact everybody knew you by name from the first day. At the frontdesk, in the restaurant, at the bar and even in the skiroom with personal lockers and a skibutler. The room wasn’t that big but had everything you needed and was clean. The bathroom complete with toilettries. The bed fantastic. The spa was really wonderfull. The only negative part was it being used by people from the swimmingpool with their swimmingsuits on. Being naked in the part of the spa that strictly was asked for entring naked, gave us an highly uncomforable feeling. We had the idea being stared at and nobody from the personel checked it and corrected them. There was a bar with a seperate room for smokers, highly appreciated. The breakfast was overwhelming. The personel very professional and willing to help. We had dinner in one restaurant and it was good but not special. Prices like everywhere in Switzerland high but somewhere the location, the personel en the ambiance makes it worthwhile.

The winter wonderland

This is just great. Others have mentioned the horse-drawn carriage welcome which is pretty special, but so is the welcome drink on comfy chairs in the snow-covered square in front of the hotel. Rooms are great, bars are excellent - drink Swiss wine, it's really good - and the service throughout is super-friendly and skilful. I'm a swimming pool freak, and the one here is just fine. I can imagine it being excellent after a day's skiing. One thing I'd like to share is this suggestion for a half-day activity that we loved. Get the cog railway - the Gornergrat - from the railway station to the top of the mountain. It's about 3,000 metres up. Enjoy the views of the Matterhorn and its surroundings and when you're ready, get the train and ride down one station to Rotenboden. Rent a couple of ski poles as walking sticks, go round the back of the station and take the walk down to the next station down - Riffelberg. There was still lots of snow when we did it, but the trail was perfectly groomed. It's very safe, pretty easy walking and takes around an hour and a bit. On a sunny day, the whole experience is just magic. Views of the Matterhorn, crisp, clear air and a bit of gentle exercise. Have lunch at the Riffelhaus with its terrific buffet and then ride back down to the Zermatterhoff for a drink and a swim. Enjoy this hotel. It is truly great.

Wonderfully classic and magnif....

From the minute you arrive in Zermatt picked up by the hotel’s horse and carriage, you know you are well taken care of. The staff was extremely helpful and arranged a driver to our next location -they can answer any question and are there to help you. Our room was extremely spacious with two balconies, a sitting area and had our favorite bathroom and closet . You are steps away from shops and restaurants. This was our second trip here. We also loved the bar and listening to the singer each evening sing classic songs. A very elegant hotel.

Well Maintained Rooms with Exc....

I was nervous that our Deluxe Room would be faded given the age of the hotel, but everything was perfectly maintained and we had a balcony with exceptional views of the Matterhorn. The hotel also has unrivaled pool and spa facilities (the jacuzzi is situated so that you have a view of the Matterhorn). The only negative was that at check-in they charged us an additional CHF 200 a night on account of the fact that the reservation was for only one person and my wife was staying with me. I understand that an extra human staying in a room has some additional cost on the hotel, but CHF 200 a night is a bit high for an additional robe and another seat at the breakfast buffet.

Amazing Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and I’ve enjoyed every single moment with it. It was amazing location and good staff and one of the main thing Ive loved the most was chocolate bar that they provide inside the room as complement. Before i check out ive asked the hotel to buy two boxes of it and i had them ready at check out. I went back again just to get more of this chocolate but unfortunately they ran out of it. Don’t miss this chocolate when you stay with them.
