An excellent choice on the Gra....

I specifically booked the 2nd floor Grand Canal suite (room 206) to celebrate a special occasion and it was the perfect choice. A very large, bright room with windows on three sides and patio doors that open up onto a balcony with a small table and chairs overlooking the Grand Canal and the gardens of the hotel. The fact that we had good weather meant that we were able to appreciate the hotel at its best with breakfast and a welcome drink taken in the garden on the bank of the canal. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the choice available at breakfast was more extensive than we were expecting. Overall it exceeded my expectations and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and, in particular, this suite for a special occasion.

What a wonderful hotel!

What a wonderful hotel! The staff was always polite and friendly. Our room was quiet clean and lovely. We really enjoyed our stay in Venice. This hotel was an absolutely perfect choice. Close to the train for a day excursion or a business trek which is exactly what my husband had. The courtyard was a magical place to sit and have a drink and watch the boats and gondolas as they cruised by. Thank you for our magical stay in Venice.

Beautiful Gardens - Grand Cana....

We chose this hotel for the location, positive TA reviews and the reasonable price. It is a very easy 10 minute walk from the main train station in Venice. It is so close to good restaurants but in a quiet, little square with no through traffic which made it very quiet at night. The hotel itself is a restored, grand residence with some beautiful architecture but also some very modern touches like the glass roofed dining area. We stayed in the cheapest room and it was a good size with a very modern bathroom. The bathroom is glass walled so privacy may be an issue for some. The included breakfast is very good with a great selection of hot and cold food. You can eat in the dining room or out in the beautiful gardens right on the Grand Canal. Finally, as nice as this hotel is, the best feature is the staff. We had wonderful service from the concierges, the room staff and the dining room staff. I would not consider any other hotel in Venice when I return one day.

What an excellent place

A hotel may be in a beautiful city, have excellent location, be a beautiful building, very well maintained, good food and so forth, but without the right staff it won't be a great hotel. The Ca' Nigra has all the advantages - and first class staff. That's why we always return.

2 nights at the ca nigra

The resort it’s fine but we don’t feel it’s a 4 start resort by the following reasons: When we checked in we found hairs in the bathroom, and I did the mistake to check under the bed and found it completely dirty. The curtains just cover half of the window and the sun will start showing up at 4 am making it impossible to sleep. Really noisy, room was a shoe box, tiny room, the door literally open hitting the bed. The only positive was the really friendly helpful staff .
