This hotel could be spectacula....

We spent a lovely four days in this hotel enjoying Rome. It is a beautiful building with comfortable rooms and a delightful garden. The location is close to the subway, and it is nice to be away from the crowds at night. One especially nice touch was that the hotel provided a cell phone to all its guests for use around the city. On the other hand, several of the hotel features made the stay somewhat unpleasant. The internet rarely worked effectively in our room, meaning we had to move to the lobby to access email, news, etc. Although our room was cleaned, the maid did not remove dirty coffee cups or give us new ones. Additionally, breakfast always started at least 15 minutes later than stated. Finally, several of the staff members, especially the men, were rude when asked to serve at the bar or provide coffee in the morning. This made the whole experience less than perfect. Hopefully, the hotel management will work to improve these errors, although they are mentioned in several previous reviews.

Bad location and bad service!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The location was outside the city center. You can walk about 10 minutes to the train station and get around if necessary. The streets surrounding the hotel are dead at night so I didn't feel comfortable when we walked back to the hotel late at night from the train station. The room was small. The bathroom smelled like sewer. There was mold in shower. We advised the cleaning staff. They did nothing about it. Breakfast was a joke. I was 7 months pregnant and very showing. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table. There is very limited tables in the breakfast space. Once we were finally seated, there was not much food left. The bald guy who was serving people was not pleasant at all. I asked him for hot water and he didn't want to give me hot water because it almost 10:00 am. I advised him we got there at 9:15 and he made us wait. He eventually brought me hot water but as if he was doing me a huge favor. The man who checked us in told me over the phone the room was 100 euro/night, but when we checked in he charged us 120 euro/night. I advised that was not the price stated over the phone. Even after he admitted he made a mistake over the phone, he did not care to honor the price. I would never stay here again!

A hidden gem in Rome

Walking distance to Subway station, and a few blocks from the Villla Torlonia museum, and 2 miles east from the Foro Romano and Piazza Venezia.:great location, great ambiance, really good rooms, impecable service. A quaint Roman Villa converted in a romantic hotel. Quite a find.

Could be better

This has the potential to be a lovely hotel but they get too many of the little things wrong. Positives; well presented, clean, tea, fridge and coffee machine in the room (we stayed in a superior room). Maid service good. Negatives; wifi intermittent and signal poor (too poor to use). No sockets in the room. If you want to charge your phones you will need to move furniture and unplug something. Almost no closet or draw space. The bar was never attended. We sat there for 20 minutes one day and then gave up. We never saw it staffed once during our visit. The breakfast was good if you got there early, if not then most of the hot food was gone. There were only two 4 person tables in the restaurant (all others were 2 person) and they were always reserved although we never once saw anyone sitting at them. We will try somewhere else next time.

Nice hotel but be careful with....

Eventually this is a nice hotel with a bit above average breakfast. The personnel is friendly but we had to negotiate a lot to get a comfortable room. Double rooms are not always double although both myself and the travel agency complained. Considering the price, this should be something for the management to consider. No negroni. Not able to eat something if hungry (there is a 24h carefour nearby). Again, considering the price, this is not right... We had to change room twice during a 5 nights stay but in the end we got the suite (canova) which was great and autonomous. I recommend it but be cautious with the exact booking and take ur drinks and food with you...!
