Awesome place

This quaint and secluded hotel is the bomb! The service is amazing as well as the view, the rooms and the grounds. If ever in Florence again, I would stay here in a heartbeat. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to help you out.

Truly lovely, unsual, James Bo....

Just returned from a 3-night stay. Highly recommend the hotel. It's unusual, small (we hardly see any other guests), quirky, trendy, clean, spacious and just a fun hotel. Literally carved into a mountain, about 10 mins away from Florence centre. The staff at the hotel drop you to a bus stop, then it's 10 mins on a bus to the City centre. Price for the bus is 1.2 Euro. The hotel has a bar, a wine cellar (dug deep down into the mountain; like you're in a cave), a restaurant, and although we didn't eat there, we had breakfast in it, which was more than good enough. I can't fault the hotel. It's not a Four Seasons type 5*, but I'm done with large corporate hotels and nowadays I prefer more boutique style hotels, and that way you're supporting smaller businesses too, which I think everyone should try to do these days (I bet this hotel actually pays its taxes..!!) My ONLY criticism, and it's a small one, is that they charge .50c for use of the coffee machine per coffee. Everything else is so amazing about the hotel, just drop the .50c fee. It feels a little bit tight from the customer POV, and does it really make that much difference. I'd prefer you increase the price of the room by 1 Euro a night and have free coffee:-) Just my opinion, and it's more constructive criticism than anything else. I can imagine Ski resorts being like this, and as I don't Ski, this is the closest I'll probably ever come to staying in a secluded hideaway up in the mountains. Good job and thanks for the lifts to the bus stop! And for any shoppers that are into very high end designer clothes, there is a shop in Florence called Loiusa Via Rome, that sells all of the very cutting edge fashion brands. However, they also have an outlet store which they supply a free taxi service for. I picked up a pair of 1850 euro shoes at 80% off..!! I'd highly recommend going to the main store, having a coffee in there, and then getting the taxi to their outlet store. They don't label the discounts on all items, so just ask. They supply a free taxi back too.

Amazing hotel, book it and enj....

We don't write many reviews, but it would be unfair not to take a moment to recommend this hotel. Very high quality rooms, amazing views, comfy beds, lovely food and wonderful helpful staff. Its a few miles out of Florence, but an easy quick bus ride. Perfect.

Lovely hotel

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Eden Rock, its a lovely hotel only 15 mins from Florence, so lovely to have breathtaking views of Florence & hills from our balcony this is the reason we booked Eden Rock & we were not disappointed. Staff are polite & helpful offering a lift to the bus stop each day as walking is not advisable due to it being on a very busy road with no footpath. We were lucky to have lovely weather so each morning so we enjoyed a few peaceful hours around the pool before heading into the busy city in the afternoon. Only gripe is being charged for coffee in the room & shower was poor for the quality of the hotel & tricky to keep water at the same temperature due to wobbly handle.

Stunning views

20 minutes from Florence Peretola airport (~€25 in a taxi) and nestled in the hills overlooking Florence, Eden Rock Resort is a perfect couples retreat. Despite a late arrival owing to air traffic disruption, we were warmly greeted at the gates to the hotel by Walter. Obviously proud of the resort, Walter took time during our check-in to show us the features of our room as well as to provide us with a detailed map of Florence, recommendations for attractions and points of interest within the city and bus timetables for getting out and about. The room was clean and tidy, comfortably furnished and with a kitchenette area equipped with basic cooking utensils, fridge stocked with refreshments and Sky TV (the only minor quibbles being limited space for unpacking and a shower that was very sensitive to adjustment of the hot and cold tap). The best feature of the suite and major selling point of Eden Rock, however, was outside. Floor to ceiling windows led from the room to a generous balcony area with stunning views out into the Tuscan hills and down into Florence - whether in the misty morning sunshine or illuminated at night under the city lights it's a view I could never tire of. Although it's such a beautiful city, the centre of Florence can be hot and crowded, so returning to the tranquillity of the hotel after a day out makes the setting all the more appreciable. The weather during our stay wasn't quite hot enough to be able to take advantage of the Eden Rock pool but the grounds are well maintained and I imagine it's a very pleasant place to spend a lazy afternoon. Continental breakfast consisted of a good selection of bread, cheeses, meats and baked goods, served in the dining area or on the patio by the pool. For travelling into Florence, the bus service from the resort runs regularly (approximately every 20 minutes) from early morning to late night and costs less than €5 per couple. Eden Rock staff were only too keen to offer a lift to the bus stop heading into town (it's a 1 km walk down the hill but, with no roadside footpath, walking is unadvisable), with the stop on the return journey located immediately outside the hotel. All-in-all, then, Eden Rock is a romantic getaway in a great location for exploring the culture, museums and monuments of beautiful Florence and Tuscany, complemented by excellent customer care and service. I would highly recommend it.
