Affordable and very good
I was searching for an affordable solution near the city centre and it seems that this was very good. Close to the city metro, and near the old part of the city, with access to lots of restaurants and cafes.

Pleasant in Prado
A nice hotel, tucked away between two main roads in a decent neighbourhood, but nice and quiet. For drivers there is an adjacent multi-storey car park & non drivers will find buses, tram & metro within a 5 minute walk. On top of that, there are many restaurants & bars plus a daily market. The hotel is just two metro stops from The Stade Velodrome so its a perfect hotel for the football. I had a single room which was small but spotlessly clean, with a large comfortable bed, sufficient wardrobe space & a modern clean bathroom with a very powerful shower. Buffet breakfast was standard Ibis Styles in a bright spacious room. The staff were friendly & helpful and the complimentary tea, coffee water and biscuits were very welcome. I would gladly stay here again.

Very poor for Ibis standards (....
Marielle from reception was really nice and put a lot of effort to understand an issue with a charge I had in my card, which later we discovered was associated to online check in guarantee deposit of 20 euros.
The rest of experience was way below expectations, this Ibis Styles is below the standards and I felt worse than in many Ibis Budget I’ve been before, the old furnitures and poor maintained rooms, not good shower and very poor internet connection.
I was negatively surprised with the breakfast, only bread and ham available, few yogurt and coffee. There was an orange juice machine without orange, no cheese (cmon how come a breakfast in France has no cheese?) and nobody from hotel taking care to fulfill missing items of the breakfast.
I got only one night in this Ibis and breakfast was included in price, if I had paid extra for breakfast my disappointment would’ve been even higher.
In summary thanks to Marielle for being helpful and nice but this hotel needs a lot of improvement.

Stayed at the Ibis for 2 nights and we felt we had good value for money.
Well located for the metro and trams with easy access to the port by foot or transport.
Simple continental breakfast which was more than adequate.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Clean but tired hotel in good location

Not as expected (needs some ma....
The positives: this hotel is well located and the staff is nice and polite.
The hotel is nothing like in the photos and needs some major works. I know it's an IBIS styles and not a 5* hotel but for the price (almost 100Eur) I was expecting at least a clean hotel. The carpets were very stained and there was a moldy smell in the corridors.
The first room I have been given was supposedly better than most. However, the window was facing a backstreet - street level!- and all dirty with bird excrements. The second room was on a top floor, facing again a back street (photos included). Window was dirty and the view depressing. The bed was single and extra narrow. The bathroom looked old and the bathtub and tiles were stained. Not a reasonable standard for this hotel and price (not that cheap!). To end on a positive note: the breakfast was ok and the fresh orange juice saved the day. But not enough to compensate for the rest... I will not be booking again at this hotel. For an extra 20-30EUR you have much better options in Marseille.
