This Hotel should not be allow....
Everything about this place aweful. First of all they charged us half of the price from our credit card when we booked, which it said on Booking that they weren’t going to do. Then when we arrived we had to pay the whole amount even though we had already paid half. Afterwards we had to go through our bank and do a reclamation to get the money back, as the hotel didn’t give it to us as they said they were... So the receptionist are not nice or helpful. Then the room is just aweful aweful aweful. I don’t think it has ever been cleaned, the shower is inside the room with no curtain and the toilet in the corridor. There are broken windows which make noise in the wind all night and it’s just disgusting to lie in the beds. We had booked for 2 nights (and almost paid for 3) but we left after one night and changed hotel as this placed was about to ruin our vacation. Don’t come here!!!

Attention, bed bugs in room 12....
The staff was very friendly.
It is a cheap accommodation with a very close distance to the city center, so do not expect too much for the price.
But the staff tried to make it as comfortable as possible for us.
The rooms are old, they tried to clean them as good as possible. But however, there was the smell of cigarette in the room, even if everywhere was a ,,Smoking forbidden"sign. The bathroom was clean and the heater was working very well, what made us feel o.k. even in December.
Be careful, we had bed bugs in room 12, they appeared the second night. But the staff
helped us out with another room and that was o.k.At the second place there wasn't cigarette smell, that was fine.
It is a little bit a kind of that ,,shabby chique hotel", but the location is fine. So it depends what You are looking for. I already had better places in Marseille to stay for the same price - but also worse.

Nice hotel/hostel but not secu....
I stayed in the female dorm at this hotel in August.
The good: fantastic location, comfy beds, enough showers, nice staff and good breakfast. The dorm was roomy and the sofas in the lobby made up for the lack of communal areas.
The bad: the buzzer on the hotel main door was broken so they just left it unlocked. Since the entrance to the dorms was right next to the main entrance and had no lock this meant anyone could wander in. There were secure lockers to store your suitcase in which were good (bring your own padlock) but it didn't feel very safe to sleep in. It's only about £30 to buy a basic pin code for lock so I don't know why they don't do that if they don't want to give people keys. Additionally, the drains on the showers backed up and flooded half the room pretty much every day and the broken toilet seat from reviews months ago is still broken. The luggage storage cost was also quite steep at €10 if you wanted to leave it beyond 2pm.
Overall, ok for how cheap it is but it would take very little effort from the management to make it really good.

Bad, but you could sleep
The hostel is really old.
The sofa on the ground floor is dirty and when I sit there, I start to scratch myself, kind weird.
The bathroom doesn't have seat and the toilet paper used to end all the time, they took time do replace or we should go to the reception more then once a day to ask the toilet paper.
I ask for the receptionist about everyday to replace a light that wasn't working, but they didn't change until I left. I was there for 3 nights.
The security is not the best also, in the first night, a guy, smelling too bad, from outside just enter at the ladies room in the middle of the night, take his pants off and just in underwear was walking in the room, a girl just wake up scared and we had to kick him off the room. The night receptionist was kind rude at the first moment and when we ask for a key in the room he just said: "we couldn't do anything if he is a host" but yes, he could because he has a TV with the cameras in front of him and he didn't see a guy entering in the ladies room also the guy wasn't hosted on the hostel.
The lockers in the room are great, the shared room has a good space inside and the bed is ok.
The location is the best, you can go to the old Port and the city center by foot and the metro station is also really close.
But this is the only good thing to say about the hostel.

Not the Greatest Hotel
Some things were not so great. Bathroom is down the hall and sometimes lacks toilet paper. No A/C, but that is common. The WiFi is infuriating. Location is close to the metro, but a longer walk from train station. Overall a decent experience but far from luxurious.
