Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort

We stayed in a garden view cottage. The cottage had glass windows all around and u had no privacy if curtains were not drawn. But if curtains were drawn then lighting was dim. Shower was located in an open garden which i found difficult to use due to privacy issues. The wash basin counter was too low (only about 2’ high instead of the regular 3’) and a me had to really bend a lot to wash hands. Breakfast food quality was quite average. Mainly catering to local thai and chinese food eaters with lot of pork and beef items. Limited vegetarian options. No indian food counter. Chef at live egg station used to drop raw egg on the floor / on his shoes while cooking and quality of omelette is visible in the photo. On one day out of 2 days we stayed, room was not made up until 4 pm and we had to follow up for getting it cleaned. Hotel told us that since they were running full, they would clean it by 6 pm. This excuse is not acceptable because we were paying top season rate. Hotel is on the beach which is nice. Two pools are smallish in size. Pool towels are pretty worn out and need replacement. Hotel location is the only good part. Right on the beach in a quiet area and good for long walks. U can eat local food outside in small restaurants located outside the hotel.

Nice resort, great cabanas feel like you are in forest. Staff is welcoming. Breakfast is amazing and restaurant has great view.

Amazing island resort

Despite the perfect location, the photos on the website are however misleading. This hotel doesn't have a sea view as mentioned, though it's hardly a minute walk from the room. We were upgraded a suite!! So these are photos of a suite. However each room is exquisite and unique and has a front space outside the door with 2 reclining chairs staring at the greenery outside. Bar at the beach is supper.. However book this hotel only if you are going to stay in it and not roam around much... Since to enjoy it you must have a relaxed schedule. Only problem was with the pool time which was too early at 7 pm and the hotel doesn't serve a la carte for breakfast if you haven't booked already. It was quite disappointing for a hotel of such standards. But will surely recommend if you are looking for a laid back experience.

Execllent location! Staff very friendly and welcoming. Exotix location. Thr candlelight dinners by the sea with the muscians serenading us was the highlight enjoyed kayaking and a thai massage on the beach
