Heritance Kandalama

We had a great stay at Heritance in the month of september. Its one of a kind in terms of blending architecture and nature. The hotel is located in the interior part of Dambulla, however they offer a lot of activities/excursions that can be done. They also do an interesting tour of the hotel itself and we were lucky enough to see an elephant herd in the jungle during the tour. The views from the hotel are beautiful. Our room too had the jungle view. Service is great and the buffets were excellent. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Worth stay longer. I found the location, hotel ambience and services absolutely a delight. Views are fantastic and it’s worth starting for at least 3 days. Only challenge was about getting veg indian food and chef balbeersingh from india came as saviour. Must visit if you are visiting sri lanka

It was a fantastic 2 days stay. Staff was very curtitous. Specially chef udaara. They specially prepared some nice vegetarian food and some desserts for us only

The property is spectacular as a bawa experience. Swimming pools are lovely. Spa was very good. The buffet restaurant was good and lively. However, the panorama room is very small and has no ‘panorama’. The suite is good size but a bit drab. The ala carte restaurant was below par. The manager who was polite insisted to charge us extra price for additional person than what was shown. Eventually he came down but with much reluctance. This is reason for ‘average’ and not ‘good’ rating. Overall, amazing property for architecture but needs upgrading.

Beautiful property, felt like living in the forest with comforts of a 5-star property. Excellent spread of food to cater to everyone’s palate. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended

This was the worst possible location once can stay in. They gave us inferior room and charged us for panaromic room. When asked they checked my booking and told me it’s panaromic room. It’s in middle of nowhere and access for taxi was terrible. Food was terrible and overpriced. It was cold buffet served even at the starting of buffet. Only good thing was staff was very cordial and nice. Kindly avoid this

Stay at kandalama was exceptionally good and loved the hospitality of every staff starting from room cleaner to chef to chauffer. It felt so much like home and location, food, atmosphere just added so much to give it a feel good factor.

Loved the hotel, receptionist was very nice and professional and so was everyone at the hotel, smiles everywhere, would love to go back for long duration. Food was delicious and came quickly. Location is out of the world.

The overall experience at Heritance was nothing short of magical. Right from check-in till the time we checked-out, their customer service is brilliant. It is one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed at and it is maintained very well. We had dinner and breakfast there and the spread was amazing. So many options and each of the dishes was very delicious. Will definitely go back again. What an experience. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Good service and food enjoyed so much.

We did not find choice of vegetarian food in the dinner buffet. For a luxury resort they must provide more options. Also on the 7th floor we were served wrong food and still charged for it, the captain did apologise but. The bell boys were rude when I asked them not to roll my luggage on the cobbled path way as it might break the baggage wheels, they angrily dumped my luggage. Generally, the other staff were very courteous.

It was an pleasure staying in this property which is in the centre of the nature surrounding all over. The hospitality by the staff was overwhelming. Special thanks to Vipula Perera for special service and guidance.

Would have been good to have Al a carte instead of buffet as there was significant food wastage. Also some options for vegetarian. There were very few.

Heritance Kandalama exceeded our expectations for a comfortable stay with an exquisite view and luxurious atmosphere that was not too fancy or pretentious. The room had an incredible view and a highlight of the luxury room was the jacuzzi with picture window overlooking the lake. Another highlight was the infinity pool with breathtaking scenery. The hotel was built to enhance enjoyment of the natural surroundings and in this aspect it succeeds perfectly. The staff are friendly and eager to help with a smile. The only thing that did not live up to expectations was the food there was great variety but the quality was not equal to the quantity.

I am satisfied with hotel service. Especially the location is great. I would like to stay hotel again.
