Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport

The one thing that struck me about the location of the hotel was it's proximity to the O.R.Tambo International airport, it's practically next door! The to and fro shuttle service from the airport to the hotel is super convenient. Coming to the staff, they were very courteous and polite, the room service was quick and efficient. A special mention is deserved for the housekeeping staff and the supervisors who went out of their way to keep the room clean everyday. The breakfast spread was varied and satisfying, and other than that, I did not have much food in the hotel restaurant . Some jarring notes - 1. none of the extensions from the room phone were functional other than the reception and all calls were routed through it. 2. Barring a small complimentary bottled water, I had to buy water in the absence of a water station for refilling, water is super expensive at R50 for a bottle of 1.5 litre of still water. Other than these, no complaints, and in summary, the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo is a good place to stay when you are visiting Johannesburg.

It was a gd experience. The staff was very friendly n helpful. The food was awesome. I would like to come back again. After all it is very close to the airport n airport transfer is excellent.

The location of the hotel is conveniently placed. And shuttle service was comfortable. While checking in, found the queue to be long with only one counter open. The rooms were clean but the bathroom & interiors looked old. Air conditioner was not working so felt quite stuffy had to keep the windows open to get some sleep. Room service and reception was non responsive at night, not sure if there is no staff availablity. Another thing to mention is the complimentary water provided per room, it was a small bottle kept in the restroom, we were not sure if we could use that.

Average experience, ordinary hotel near to airport. Only good thing is free airport shuttle. Food prices are on the higher side. Rooms are just basic rooms with limited amenities.

A very comfortable stay right next to the airport. Great facilities and very polite staff. Very kind of them to pack breakfast for us since we had an early flight

We had a great stay, good helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and neat and clean. It is about 10 minutes from the airport by shuttle. They have a airport shuttle every 15 minutes.
