Protea Hotel by Marriott O.R. Tambo Airport

Stayed here for a night before heading to our safari plans next morning. Breakfast is a lovely huge spread, and very Worth the money. Additionally, the baggage storage service is awesome to have, and very happy it was provided for. Staff was courteous and friendly and most helpful.

Staff are very cooperative very nice.

Convenient location and regular shuttles between the airport and hotel. Restaurant staff extremely inefficient. Dinner took over 90 minutes to be prepared - we ordered at 10:15 came and started eating after 11:45 pm! When the food finally arrived, they realised they had not written the complete order, so the one vegetarian person in the group got no food! They then took another 15 minutes to deep fry a basket of frozen finger foods for her.

I visited Johannesburg on 10 october, 2015. Though Protea is 4 star hotel but hospitality is not good. You have to carry your luggage till the room on your own. They have very poor coordination with tour agencies and will charge double amount, that is why I did a Johannesburg tour from other hotel near by. Room was good with good cleanliness. Dinner was fine with reasonable price. Overall we had good stay.
