This isn’t a hotel it’s a hostel. It’s dirty and loud with lots of backpackers. Don’t stay here unless you want somewhere very very basic and cheap. The location is good but that’s the only positive I can think of.

Basic in every sense
We weren't meant to be staying at Hotel Philia, but another hotel who decided they would overbook, told us to go there instead. First impressions were poor, as you walk into the lobby the light fixtures are flickering, the walls are stained and flooring cracked. The lady at the reception spoke good English but wasn't overly inviting. The staircase leading up to the third floor was less than appealing and needed, at very least, a lick of paint. The room itself was VERY basic, however it was quite clean (not perfect by any stretch). The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was simple but tasty enough and location was fantastic.

Excellent! Enjoy your stay in ....
I stayed in Rome for 4 days and part of my excellent experience of Rome was due to the comfortable and convenient stay at Philia Hotel. The location is excellent, within few minutes walk from Termini Station and within 15 min walking distance to Foro Romano and Colloseo.
The hotel is very nice, an old building recently refurbished and very clean.
My room was perfectly clean and spacious and all my needs were met without asking.
The reception staff is very helpful and genuinely caring.
Enjoy your stay at Philia Hotel so you can experience all the beauty Rome has to offer!

I'm a student from Bavaria.
We visited Rom for a few days and we spent the nights in Hotel "Philia", which is a hotel in Termini.
After our check in, there soon was the first problem. First of all you have to know that the hotel is very old and a lot of things are damaged. So in my opinion it is an effrontery to accuse us that we have damaged the door. After a long and useless discussion with the owner, he tried to find things we could have broken.
But we haven't done anything.
The personal wasn't very kind.
The bathrooms were unacceptable.
In a few rooms the toilets were loose so you could even move them. In another room the flush didn't work.
In our room the shutters were broken so they have them fixed with a string.
The breakfast you have to eat from plastic plates and there isn't a big choice from the food.

There is no hot water,no heating,no service, no wi-fi, bad food, Invalid WC ...
I do not recommend this hotel everything is bad. It is located in a poor area of Rome.
This is not a hotel but not a hostel. I have nothing good to say. Look at the pictures and see for yourself.
