Favorite hidden gem in Rome
I will continue to stay here every time I come to Rome! Friendly staff that will help with whatever you need. Excellent location steps away from restaurants, shops, nightlife, and the colleseum. I love that it is not overly touristy here but everyone speaks English. I feel so safe in this location as well.

Would like to award 4 stars
We booked a weekend break to Rome and decided on this hotel because of the location and room offer. A superior room with Forum view.
The hotel itself is fabulous and we would use it again. The view from the rooftop bar was ancient history, the Colosseum, The Forum and Palentine and the King Emmanuel monument. We only had breakfast at the hotel but this too was excellent. To the room, we had chosen a superior room and we accept that one mans superior room might be something else to someone else. The room was a little small but well appointed, but only one electrical socket in the room, comfy bed, well stocked mini bar, good soundproofing at the windows, But no view of the Forum from our window. When i asked about this the duty manager shrugged and said they always advertise the best room. On our return to the UK i took this up with the company we booked through (with accompanying pictures) and they had no luck with the hotel either.
So nice hotel, good views but probably not from your room. If you book a room with a view I would certainly confirm with the hotel before arrival, because they don't seem too bothered after you're in the room

Close to Everything
Great room (312 I think). Close to everything - staff competent - housekeeping fabulous! Nice, quaint outside patio off our floor to sit, talk, read, whatever. Roof top bar and the restaurant have great views - stuff you only see in movies.

Second visit-pick your room wi....
This was our second trip to Rome and we decided to stay at Hotel Forum again because of its convenient location. If you just want to be able to walk to almost everything and have a place to come back to when you're exhausted, then this is definitely where you should stay. We had drinks at their rooftop bar like we did the previous year and enjoyed the views. We did have a few disappointments this time.
We did not have a coffee maker in our room like we were supposed to according to the booking and it was never quite resolved. I said something to the person at the front desk and they said they would take care of it. On the second day I spoke directly to one of the housekeepers and there must have been a language barrier problem because she told me to just go to the restaurant to get my coffee. We ended up taking the coffee maker from the room of someone else we were traveling with who was not going to use theirs. We were given a room on the fourth floor-directly underneath the restaurant. Every morning at around 5 am the person in charge (a woman who insisted on wearing boots) would stomp around getting things ready. It was impossible to try to sleep once she began working. I would not get a room underneath the restaurant if you can help it.

We stayed 4 nights in may at this hotel. We had a nice stay, could.have been better, but could have been worse. I will make a short list with positive and negative stuff:
- very very good location, 5 min walk till colosseum, 5 min walk till "altare della patria" palace. A lot of restaurants to choose near by
- hotel has a private garage if you come.by car(40 euros/night)
- wifi was very good.
- clean rooms
- very very poor breakfest, they didnt had even tomatoes or olives.
- very noisy area, full of bars and trattoria's , at night is a lot of noise.and if you want to sleep before 2am ...you will have a problem.
My advice: if you want very central location, to wall to colosseum, roman forum, piazza venezia, fontana di trevi, then choose this hotel. But if youre looking for peace and quiet, big rooms, modern furniture, then look elsewhere. Depends what you want.
