not so good booking experience with MMT

The resort as such is great but my booking experience for this property with make my trip has been disappointing.. I booked a signature room expecting entry to the lagoon as described during the booking. But when checked into the hotel, I was given the grandeur room with garden view which in MMT was several thousands lesser priced room that the one I booked. Upon calling the hotel they said my booking was for grandeur and not the signature with lagoon access and if I want to upgrade I need to pay more. This was very disappointing and was expecting more transparent communication from MMT.
