Terrible staff behavior killed the entire experience

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. The check in was smooth, thanks to the front office gentleman named Alain. The location is very close to the promenade. The hotel is very vibrant, good breakfast and a free coffee vending machine in the lobby was a treat. The bad part, on the last night of our stay when we came back from our day trip to Monaco, the hotel had decided to turn off the centralized AC and switch on the heater (but it wasn't cold at all) so the entire room was hot. When we approached the front office, the duty manager named Ansar showed bad approach, told me to check out if you cannot stay in the room. I was talked out of doing that by my wife, as we still had a long trip ahead.
