I travelled to Nice end of Mar'16 from Paris. I was arriving pretty late into Nice around 10:30 pm and therefore needed a hotel close to the train station (Gare De Nice Ville) and one with 24 hrs front desk. Les Cigales Nice fit the bill perfectly, it is a nice cosy hotel with fab staff, very warm and polite. The breakfast was very nice too! I strongly recommend Les Cigales to fellow travellers.

Our room was small but it had a nice little balcony overlooking the street. A/C worked well and everything was fine except our Queen size bed was horrible. The mattress bowed so bad, I thought I was going to wreck my back and almost did after a couple nights. I told the staff and they said that they did not know of it but said they would take care of it later. I think they have been saying that for a long time, because the mattress was new but the problem was the bed frame. It was bent so bad that a new mattress wasn’t going to fix anything. I told them this fact and they said they already fixed it the next day of our stay. So they replaced a new mattress with another new mattress and still had the same problem. Very nice staff though and I probably would stay there again. Just not during a national holiday and the Cannes film festival and the Grand Prix on Monte Carlo. We paid way too much money. Given that fact, we did book late and saw that if we had booked a month in advance we would have saved about 50.

Location wise, cost wise - This is the best place to stay. Especially if you want to cook your own food ( we were travelling with a toddler ). Some guests have smoked in the room a ...
Based on other reviews of this hotel, I am not sure whether I received a free upgrade but I cannot criticize this hotel. The room size was very good based on typical french room sizes, good bathroom, including complimentary toiletries & plenty of hot water. Plenty of wardrobe space and a comfortable bed. Everything was clean. Staff very amazingly helpful and friendly. Good buffet breakfast. Location is excellent - so convenient for public transport and for exploring Nice on foot. Seamless booking process too with hoteltravel.com . I own a property in Ste Maxime so opt for an overnight stay in Nice regularly. This is the best value hotel I have found and the nest overall experience. Love the noon checkout too and the offer of storing luggage in the baggage room for later collection.

Hotel was dirty. Staff was sweet except for one lady at the reception. I guess her name is Miriam( not sure of the name. Sounded like Miriam). She was not ready to help us in any way. Sheets were dirty and when we asked her she said they are old. She doesn't care. She only had to say what we should not do. She was extremely rude. She would never listen. She kept speaking without giving us a chance to speak. Never allowed us to actually completely tell our problems to her. Apart from her, all other staff was extremely sweet and helpful. Hotel doesn't match the description. Dirty sheets. Wi-Fi doesn't work, hotel was dirty. Out of the 2 days stay we got Wi-Fi only one day. We got breakfast only one day because they gave us the wrong breakfast timings.

Food was average as we are Indians and the staff in the restaurant behave very rude. Other than that I had a good stay and please give complimentary water bottles in every room. The rules which you guys follow actually disappoints the tourists.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our visit to South France. The hotel is about 5 mins by walk from the train station. It is about 15-20 mins by walk to old town and beach The room itself is in very bad shape and in need of restoration. The carpets are very stained and I felt very uncomfortable walking on it with my care foot. The view from the room is the train tracks. Also the phone lines in my room did not work and when I complained to the front desk, the gentlemen just said OK we will look into it but nobody came during our stay to check it out The bathroom also need major restoration. The shower hardly worked and shower area itself is very small with shower curtain that does not protect the water from spilling to the rest of the bathroom. There is no counter space around the wash basin to keep you stuff The only good news was the price of the room. It was 80 euros for 2 nights which should be one of the cheapest for a location next to the train station. This is the only reason I give it 2 stars otherwise it would be 1 star.

The pros of the hotel are the staff. Very friendly and very helpful. A big round of applause to them. The location is a little off the action place. The area is little laid back and deserted in evenings. Distance wise a little too much walking to the central area, shopping area or the train station. Only the sea port is closer. Even the beaches are some walk away.

This hotel is located in a great part of town, close to all the action, the markets, the restaurants. It’s very quiet and I am sure if you can afford it, the rooms with sea views are great. We booked a room without a view, and the first night, had a room with a view of an enclosed internal space, which we didn't like, as there was no sunlight. The hotel was happy to relocate us to another room for the second night, which was on a high floor and although it was against the cliff, there was a small little private courtyard and you could catch glimpses of the sea, and it was so much better. Breakfast is excellent in the hotel, but for dinners, we went off to the many restaurants nearby.

Stayed here for one night. The hotel is located very close to nice central train station. About 4-5 minutes by walk. I came out of the train station and asked for the direction from the tourism office. I was given a map and the direction. It was very easy to find. The hotel isn't a five star hotel but it has all you need for a nights stay. Booked the room through some discounted price on makemytrip. Room was reasonably spacious with air conditioner. Wi-Fi was accessible from the room. The breakfast had croissant, chocolate filled bread, cornflakes, hot drinks, orange juice, milk and yoghurt which was more than enough for a nights stay. The whole area is full of restaurants and bars. Overall a good value for money.
