Comfortable, responsive, great....

We stayed four comfortable nights 22nd to 25th May in a comfortable modern room. Everything is clean and well presented without going over the top. We were initially given a room in the ‘attic’ 8th floor which was restricted and with my wife’s height was uncomfortable. However Martin the manager quickly sorted it out and gave us a complementary drink while the move was being arranged. The restaurant next door ‘Next Door’ was fantastic. It is popular with non residents and one needs to book. The food is great at a reasonable price. The breakfast is standard with all the usual nicely presented. If you cannot get in there is the cafe literally across the road at the sister hotel The Imperial. The same chef services both. We had a light lunch there which was very pleasant. Service is not outstanding but mostly because of language and cultural issues. They don’t seem to smile easily. However it was clear that they intended to be professional. Martin the manager was great. A couple of items were left out when the room was made up. However one quick call and they were there. There is no comfortable lounging resting drink or coffe space outside the room. No bar area. So you have to go outside if public you like bars. We went to the Sofitel round the corner. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back there again. Thank you Martin and the team.

Great spot in a great location....

We spent just one night here and it was just what we were looking for! The rooms were really nicely appointed - I was up on the very top floor (no lift for the last flight) and so had a gorgeous skylight. The bathroom was huge, the room too. Nice looking amenities although i use my own. But the best thing was the encouragement to drink the tap water, just in front of the water bottles. They also had a big jug of iced water in reception and I filled my water bottle every time I walked past. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely location near the water as well as 10 min walking distance to old square. Access to the internet seemed to need the tv to be actually on, which I didn’t love, but small thing! Note, it does seem to attract large groups of American tour groups - not sure if that’s all the time or not.

Five star, mid-luxury

Clean, comfortable, smells good, accommodating concierge service, friendly staff. Bath robes for extra niceties. Beautiful lobby and common area. Breakfast is a fine restaurant quality (it's actually a separate restaurant, and you charge to your room). We would stay there again. We didn't take advantage for time sake but there is masseuse/spa service for extra which looked really good.

Two nights at the Cosmopolitan....

Excellent hotel, extremely clean, efficient staff, good restaurant, excellent breakfast and very close to all main attractions. Only about a ten minute walk to the main square. Would definitely stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel again.

Good with few exceptions

We were staying in the executive room for a total of two nights in May 2018. Before going forward with my review, I would like to say that I recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Prague, I would stay there again. Here you have it if you don’t like to read longer reviews. The Good: Staff – we had an excellent experience in every interaction with hotel’s staff. Everyone was pleasant to talk to, helpful, always smiling and on point when dealing with our requests. Exactly what you would expect when visiting a five-star hotel. Cleanliness – everything seemed clean, smelled nice and looked good. Everything except one thing that I will be mentioning later. Restaurant – will be reviewing the restaurant separately. We did not try breakfast there but had dinner and deserts on several occasions. The verdict: we recommend it, especially for the deserts. Noise – actually one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Meaning the walls are probably soundproof since we did not hear any noise coming from other rooms. Except for sounds in the corridor, but that was more than ok. Also, our windows were facing the street, but we barely noticed any noise. That is due to double glass windows. Wifi – they have two options for wifi connection. One is accessible to everyone in the hotel, with no password needed. Not a secure version but wait there is more. Another option is available only in your room but gives you a safe, password protected connection, unique to your room only. The speed and connection quality was excellent for both options. Exchange rate –we compared it with exchange offices and even our debit card exchange rate this, to our surprise, was the best option. Hotel taxi – clean, pleasant, comfortable and the fare rate was not over the top. The Bad: Lighting - One of the lamps by the bed is twisted and looks unappealing. Not a five-star standard. The shower – The shower separation (a curtain substitute) was not on point. And that it for whatever crazy reason a problem common to many other hotels out there. What do I mean? Well, when you take a shower, expect to have a pool of water on the floor (even if you are extremely careful). That is because of shower/bath separation is only partial and even that does not protect water from leaking onto the floor. Once again, to be fair, this happens a lot in other hotels across the world. The mattress – for one of us, the mattress provided was too hard, but I that is a personal preference. The Ugly: Long story short, I found someone’s pubic hair in my bed. OK, this one needs an explanation. I have a habit to sleep without a duvet, using only a blanket case. So, I took the blanket out of its case…and… here it was a long black, disgusting pubic hair (the picture is included). That actually is the reason why I did not give five stars to Cosmopolitan hotel. Why did I not contact the staff about it? Because there was no point to do it. The damage was already done (what’s been seen cannot be unseen). And the hotel could not do anything to make it better since I did not need another blanket.
