Damchen Resort

Good ambiance, and room. Service and food requires improvements. Food is a little expensive. Booking confirmation update was not received by the hotel from make my trip and had to wait for clarification

It’s an amazing hotel and lots of vips and politician prefer this place due to its amazing location and good rooms along with good service. The owner is amazing person and he asked us if we faced any issues as tourists. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Though standard rooms are small in size, book deluxe room to get good experience.

The location is perfect. But the entire resort was under maintenance and the staff was completely clueless regarding everything.

The hotel is at an amazing location. Just around 3 minutes from the town and taxi stand. The riverside view of the deluxe rooms is amazing and the rooms are very spacious. The staff is helpful and sensitive to your needs. Would love to stay back in it if I ever get back to Bhutan.

We stayed at Damchen for two days. The room are nice and clean and the mattress are very comfortable. It's very close to the Punakha dzong and the river side view is amazing. Breakfast was enjoyable with a lot of variety. We enjoyed our stay.

We really loved staying at this resort. Room was very nice and the view from room was beautiful. It is located right next to the river and the room provided was spacious. Food was amazing and stay was peaceful.

Excellent bathroom that also provides hot water so you can use it even in the chills of December. Most other places in Bhutan lacked the same which was surprising. The room has great amenities although the bed was a tad bit weird.

There is a full fledged restaurant attached to this hotel and is very helpful in timings. The service is very quick and food was great.

I stayed at Damchen resort with my family. We had booked two standard rooms one of which was upgraded to semi-deluxe room. The room amenities, cleanliness and service was really good. The resort is situated on the river bank which gives it a scenic spot and is only 10-15 mins away from Punakha Dzong. Guests can enjoy the river view from the resort restaurant or even walk up till the river from resort. Food can be the only problem especially for strictly vegetarian guests as there aren’t many options available in the restaurant menu. I recommend guests to book a meal plan while booking the room as the food options in Khuruthang market are very limited. Overall an amazing place to stay with great value for money.

Had a great time in Damchen Resort. River at the backside has advantage to shoot the birds in early morning. Great hospitality. Tasty food.

The hotel is in river side and the view is great food is good and location is amazing.

Me and my wife stayed here from the 8th to 9th of December during out recent Bhutan trip. The room was a little small to our liking but cozy nonetheless. The dinner and the breakfast were decent. The resort is next to a river and the surroundings look beautiful early morning. The hotel staff were all women and they run the place pretty well. Would recommend staying here.

We stayed there for a couple of nights. It's little on the outskirts so if you want to go Around for anything, you might need a vehicle. Rooms are spacious but little old fashioned. Water pressure is an issue here so the shower is of no use and also if you are on higher floors then you will surely face this issue. Our room was on the third floor so we had to fill the bucket beforehand as water flow in the shower was very slow. There is no lift in this hotel so choose your room wisely and inform them beforehand. The service is good here. Food is also good w. Are. To quantity and quality. The breakfast menu is very sufficient.

Having a great location and a huge property, this resort could have a stay heaven in Punakha. However, poor maintenance and careless behavior of the staff makes it a less than average experience and not value for money at all. The toilet fittings doesn't work, no curtain in the shower area makes the toilet messy after every use. The tea maker looks risky with it's tape fixing, polled off furniture etc. Clearly the maintenance is a big failure here.

Very nice location. The rooms were very nice and clean. Suitable for family to stay.
