Hidden Fees and no AC
This hostel was overall quite nice, we stayed for three nights. I think if we had come in the winter it would have been much nicer, but I do not recommend during the summer as it was nearly impossible to sleep it was so hot. There is no air conditioning in the hostel and no air circulation. We found ourselves sitting in the common room just to have a fan, but this closes at 11 pm and they force you to leave then. There are also additional fees upon check in that we were unaware of, about €90 worth. They make you do your own bed, as well as bring the bed materials down after your stay. It did have a TV with couches and board games to play in the common room and had a pretty great location. Overall, though, was extremely overpriced for what you're getting and is too hot to sleep in the summer.

Everything was great
It's a bit confusing because they have 2 locations, one of which (Grand Place) has no reception, so you have to check in at the other (City Centre) and then go to your own place. When I booked, I very specifically requested City Centre because I think it's important to have staff on hand in case you have any problems or concerns. Then, like the idiot I am, I dragged my poor suitcase across all the cobblestones to the Grand Place location... only to realize I was in the wrong place. The City Centre location is farther from the train station, but it's actually easier to get to if you have heavy luggage on wheels, because no cobblestones!
Once I was at the right place, I was checked in by Anna, who is absolutely lovely, and so friendly. She showed me everything on the map, told me about the various walking tours, recommended nearby supermarkets. She was incredibly helpful! The rest of the staff were great too. This is why I'm glad I booked City Centre and not Grand Place--I can't imagine having no one around to ask questions or help with any problems!
The stairs are steep and narrow, but there is a lift if you have lots of luggage!
I was in a 6-bed all-female dorm. The room was beautiful and clean, with nice furniture and big windows. The beds were very comfortable, although not quite tall enough for me to comfortably sit up straight on the bottom bunk. There is a great big fireplace mantle with lots of space to put your stuff, as well as a table and chair. The windowsills are also very wide, so you have more space to put things. There is also a cute little balcony (although not much of a view on that street). The curtains are nice and thick so it's not too bright in the morning. You can also open just the window by the sink, which is sort of around the corner from the rest of the room. This way, the early risers can have light to get ready while the rest of the room is dark enough for others to sleep in.
The bathroom was ensuite, which is nice. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms to avoid having to wait (there are other bathrooms outside the room as well, just in case). However, the sink was in the main room, so if you wanted to wash your hands/face or brush your teeth while others were sleeping, it was hard not to wake them up.
The wifi was strong and fast throughout the building, and I was able to stream the Royal Wedding from the comfort of my own bed with no interruptions.
There is no guest laundry in the hostel. However, there is a self-service laundromat a couple of blocks away for a decent price. The hostel front desk was helpful about giving me change for the coin-operated machines.
The hostel has a tiny but clean kitchen for making your own food, and a great big common area for eating and socializing. The decor is very unique, mainly machinery-themed, but there was also a mannequin in an old-timey scuba suit and some war memorabilia. The one thing I didn't like was the giant screens in the common room that always had the TV on at a loud volume, even though there was usually no one watching them. I prefer peace and quiet, but even soft music would have been better. No one wants to hear loud political or sports commentary while they're eating.
Overall, I really enjoyed my week here and I'm glad I picked this hostel.

Hostel with a nice, relaxed at....
One of the best hostels I stayed in on my 2 month trip across Europe. There’s a very comfortable lounge/eating area where you can hang out and meet some people. Very clean place overall too. Only downsides were the kitchen was pretty small and the room we were in was a 5 bed room but probably should’ve only have 4 beds in it due to its size. Neither of these were a big deal though. I saw another review that said you can’t check in here but they always had a receptionist when I was there.

Great staff and Location - Sta....
Stayed here for two nights with 7 friends for a stag-do. The Hostel is well located and just a short walk into the center. We booked two 4 bed rooms with private shower. Beds were comfy, rooms perfect size and shower was good. It was great value and we had a great weekend.

Better than expected
Stayed in their family room for a few nights while in Brussels, the room was simple but clean and we got all the basics needed. The common area is comfortable and quirky, with free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We had a great stay!!!
Only downside was we didn't realise all the extra costs that would incur. I guess a card deposit and a deposit for towels and bedsheets is normal. But didn't like that there is a 2% extra charge for using a card, maybe it says on website but I didn't see this.
PS. If you stay here, get a family room otherwise you have to make the bed yourself
