Our kind of place!
Only stayed one night at Medusa - wish it had been more. Small hotel in old building with bags of character and in nice city suburb. Good size room, very comfy bed and we liked the fact that the kitchenette was hidden away so did not attract from the rest of the room. Friendly guys on reception, nice toiletries and we appreciated the complimentary pastries with our coffee in the morning.

Our first night here was in a very tiny room with perhaps the smallest ensuite i have ever seen. After making a comment about the small room the owners very happily moved us to a bigger room the following day - which was very kind and something we appreciated. This room was certainly much more spacious and like the penthouse of the hotel. Location was convenient and it was quiet which was what we were after. Not sure we'd stay here again.

Agree its a great location
Firstly the good
We loved the location and the cafe diagonally opposite is great for breakfast.
The people who run the hotel are very nice.
The bed is extremely comfortable.
Now the not so good
I personally felt it was in need of a bit a a redo. The decor is dated.
The room is very dark (although ours was very large)
The biggest drawback was the noise.
Noisy a/c lucky we did not need it so just turned it off.
There was a buzz in the room and we could not work out where it was coming from.
Also in the morning when people were leaving we could hear everything through the walls.
The bathroom is tiny with the shower over the bath.
Its a pity because its a very pretty building in a lovely local but next time I think we will try Spicers in Potts Point

Bit Qwerky and very basic
I’m used to staying in large Hotel, but was needing a hotel close by my office in town. Found this hotel very old with modern styling still very basic and a bit qwerky. The room and hotel were extremely cold due to dark decor and open planning. Will I come back? Maybe not.

Wonderfully Gay Hotel
From the moment of check in to the last day check out the staff was friendly and very helpful with any request or just general information about the area. The location is perfect...you are walking distance to Oxford St with most of the gay bars and literally just around the corner from Green Park an amazing neighborhood bar with a fab gay scene. The rooms were large and spacious. The bathrooms were very clean and we never ran out of hot water while showering. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Sydney. Thanks for a wonderful trip.
