I stayed at Treebo Eeshan Rodhi Resort in Darjeeling recently, and while the location is undeniably beautiful with a mesmerizing view of the mighty Kanchenjunga, the experience was extremely disappointing due to poor service.
During peak season, the property was severely understaffed. Basic services like serving a simple cup of tea, cleaning the rooms, providing fresh bedsheets, refilling daily supplies, and even replacing drinking water bottles were either delayed or outright unavailable. The rooms below the 3rd floor had a strong, unpleasant smell, which made the stay even more uncomfortable.
What made matters worse was the attitude of the lady manager, who was shockingly rude and dismissive towards guests’ requests. Hospitality was the last thing we felt during our stay.
The only silver lining in this entire fiasco was Mr. Shyam, the property manager, who helped us arrange cabs and was fairly resourceful. Without his support, our trip would have been even more stressful.
Overall, the resort has great potential because of its location, but the service and management are nowhere near acceptable. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.
