Truly disappointing

Have never experienced less, nor worse service... room not cleaned at all during stay!? When asking in reception: "yes, we have difficulties with cleaning" !?! "Boutique"-ness is kitsch falling apart. Go anywhere else...

Ok hotel, but clearly not 5 St....

First of all, I don’t know what the regular price of The Rooms Hotel is, but we booked it as a 5 Star Hotel ob Amoma, so that’s the standard to which it has to stand up, and I believe normal nights are also fairly expensive. Let’s start with the positive things: Staff (at least the ones we met) was really friendly and helpful in situations in which you should not be in (see below). Breakfast was also good. Not spectacular, but good. The list of improvement potentials is unfortunately a bit longer: The first room we got was freezing (and really loud). Turned out that the window did not close properly (a problem in Moscow in March). The replacement room which we got just a couple of minutes later (one of the ones with the “famous” round beds, see other reviews) had a very sticky carpet and some broken equipment in the bathroom. Somehow annoying (especially for a hotel that claims to have 5 stars), but not serious enough to complain at the reception again. Entry to the hotel is a also a bit odd, as is the location. But also nothing serious. What was funny though was two people in bathrobes at breakfast in the morning. Maybe this has nothing to do with the hotel, but just with Russia in general.

Excellent hotel near Tagansky ....

Very comfortable hotel with boutique style rooms and corridors. Sufficient breakfast in cosy environment. The closest metro station is no more than 10 minutes' walk. Friendly reception and other staff. I noticed no cons. Good choice if the location suits you.

Just meeting the minimums

I spent 5 days in this hotel, the last days of December and the firsts of January, with my family. ROOMS: We had a business one with a double bed and a superior with twin beds. They were not the cleanest but they were not dirty. The business room was one of the ugliest rooms I've ever been into. It was honestly hideous, more appropiate for a one night stand than for a family holiday. The bed was a circle bed, which made it quite small in the end, and on the wall behind it there was a random poster of a naked woman. Kind of funny, but not my type of decoration. The bathtub was made out of pure plastic. There were not proper curtain to cover the tiniest rays of sunlight. Regarding the superior room, the twin beds were just the right size for a kid, definitely not big enough if you are over 15. We were supposed to get bottles of water daily because the tap water cannot be drunk, but they forgot to put in it one of the rooms two of the three days. The TVs of both of the rooms were big and new and had different options (internet, netflix, etc.). BREAKFAST: The best thing of our stay. It was quite complete, there was decent variety and it the food plates were refilled constantly. STAFF: The staff in the Front office was nice, but not super helpful. We were spending New Year's eve in the city and we wanted to know what could we do and which kind of activities the city offered, but the receptionist were not able to tell us anything specific appart from the time THEY THOUGHT the fireworks started. They offered us a new year dinner in the hotel but it was actually a normal menu, not even a party, way more expensive than it would be without the special date. Not worthy. LOCATION: It might seem close to the center but it is 10 minutes away from closes metro station, which is not in the same line as the main center stations, meaning you have to make a few line changes to get there; and the way to the metro is really uncomfortable, next to a big rail road with constant traffic and noises. In general, we did not get the 4 star experience we paid for, and if you are planning on going to Moscow I would greatly recommend a different hotel to stay.

Forgot to read the reviews

Hi I booked last minute and forgot to look at the reviews, if I had I would not have booked . So as a result I have to say just don’t go to this boring hotel, I totally ruined my trip , apart from all the other reviews being true and I absolutely agree , I had to live with right outside the front door being a construction sit with the workers using a jcb at 3am with a jack hammer Go figure that one out ??????? I just thank Uber in getting me out to other places
