Coolest and best hotel I’ve st....

I love this hotel so much! As soon as the receptionist opened the door to our room (which he kindly led us to and showed us all the amenities and features of hotel and room) my partner and I were in awe! This is his third time in Europe and my first, and it was just so cool to be able to take the old fashioned lift up to our room and be able to stay so close to all of the amazing things Roma has to offer. I wish I could stay in this hotel longer! The atmosphere inside is also very majestic with the beautiful stair case and stonework. The hotel room has beautiful light fixtures as well, and a kitchenette. There’s plenty of storage room, and the shower is the best shower I have ever used due to its massaging jets and features. Thank you so much! Matthew Charles Knight

Great location, great service,....

First off, I would suggest that all future guests ignore the previous review by Julia S. Clearly, the individual should have spent two-three times her budget and gone to a large hotel with a front desk and modern fittings. This hotel was perfect for us, close to the railway station, good value for money and the receptionist we dealt with went above and beyond the call of duty. Admittedly, it is a boutique hotel but you definitely get what you pay for. Reception closes at 10.00pm but you can enter the building with your hotel key. The elevator is old but it works just like most other elevators in Italy, with two doors. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for value for money and location.

DId not feel this was a Hotel ....

I am from NYC and stayed there with my then 10 year old daughter. Nobody on the review sites mentioned that is was not a hotel as we would recognize it. No front desk available for your needs. Scary place at night. Poor lighting, a few lights blew out on the main entrance staircase one night and we were scared. It was creepy I can still remember the thick webs of dust on that old "lift" its NOT an elevator at all but an old fashioned "lift" like the one in the movie Titanic when Rose is going up and down looking for Jack except that this old fashionied lift has buttons. Once I arrived there I was left alone curiously for about ten to fifteen minutes. I looked around i saw a camera staring right at me like the man went into another room to try to catch me "snooping" it was really uncomfortable. I realized when I saw the "residents" living in their private apartments in the very same building that I had been duped into thinking this was a proper hotel with concierge and front desk and all. I also think this building is haunted. We had a coffee kitchen next to our room and we kept hearing tinkling of coffee cups and talking when we opened the door nobody was in there . Also the door opened by itself once when my daughter got out of the shower. I will never stay there again.

My three days vacation in Rome

I didn’t feel safe in the hotel building. When we got there after might night we could not get into the building. This is a three star boutique hotel. The are offices and apartments in the building. Old elevator and buildings.

An (almost) perfect stay!

In the interest of transparency - our stay at Al Viminale Hill was provided free of charge after our flight was cancelled by Easyjet in February 2018. So after a bit of an inconvenient stay at a neighbouring hotel, we were moved to the Al Viminale Hill after our flight was cancelled. We stayed at Al Viminale Hill for three nights. We crossed our fingers that we would be placed in a nice hotel and we could not have been more overjoyed with where we ended up. On arrival at Al Viminale I knew it was a nice place - Dark wood throughout and it smelt beautiful and clean in all the communal areas. I would liken the hotel to a block of apartments. It has a vintage elevator and solid stone stairs and when entering each floor, you feel like you are entering an apartment with different rooms (the bedrooms). Hard to explain but hopefully some of the photos will explain. It doesn't feel like a conventional hotel. We were provided with a Deluxe Double Room - it was utterly perfect with a gorgeous view over the Teatre opposite. The room was clean, full of natural light, comfortable and of a high quality. The bathroom was absolutely stunning with a huge, modern spa-style shower. The whole room was the epitome of top attention to detail and providing the best in customer experience. There was plenty of space to store suitcases and hang clothes. Each floor of the hotel has a small communal area with a coffee and tea station and an area where we could borrow DVD's or books. We really enjoyed recharging after a day on our feet back in our room with a hot cup of coffee. The single downside is that the breakfast was absolutely awful. Some of the reviews mention on here a very good breakfast buffet at Cotto, a neighbouring restaurant, but something has happened and Al Viminale do not offer breakfast at Cotto anymore. The breakfast is at another restaurant - I would avoid. We were not offered any sort of choice and instead were treated like an inconvenience. The waiter was hungover and the chef just brought us out a plate each of cooked meats, not ideal if either of us were a vegetarian. We didn't bother with breakfast there for the extra two days, instead choosing to go to the breakfast buffet at Cotto (10 euros per person) and a bakery around the corner. We didn't complain because it was free for us, but we would have if we had been paying to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Al Viminale Hill. If I'm ever back in Rome, I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
