Hotel Krokodil - Well situated....
The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, although we took a tram ( No 24, two stops) It is also only a 15 minute walk away from the Christmas Markets on Haupt Strasse. The hotel was really good, the twin bedroom was big and pleasant, although the bathroom was quite small. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not included in the price but was worth the 8 euros. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel (different entrance) which was very popular.

Good location to visit the Old....
Luckily, we wrote ahead of time to the hotel to ask if they could help us with parking and they wrote back saying that they would reserve us a spot. Parking is a problem. The hotel has only 4 parking spots around the corner in another building, we were lucky to have one. We also asked to have a room on the first floor, the hotel having no elevators. The front desk is already on the first floor (second floor for us, North Americans), and there are rooms on that floor, but, finally our room was on the second floor (3rd for us). Nice and modern room, very clean, though no hairdryer. The Old Town is about a 10 minute walk, which is very nice. Go to the Heidelberg Castle, the view is fantastic. Breakfast was small but nice. Personnel was very friendly.

Comfortable, clean and good lo....
This hotel is in a very pleasant residential area of the city and within a stone's throw of the major attractions. As a result, you have the authentic experience of living in the city without having to travel excessively far to the tourist attractions. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast room looked over the corner of a pretty garden square. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. My single room was small, but perfectly adequate for my short trip. This hotel was recommended to me by Heidelberg University and based on the experience of my stay I would also recommend it.

Cosy Little Hotel
We stayed as a family in this hotel for a couple of nights and found it really good value. The room was large with ample room for the double bed and two singles. The en suite bathroom was a little small but as seems to be the case across Germany, spotless. There is free wifi throughout the hotel and parking is on the streets outside with a permit for this available from reception. The location of the hotel is in a beautiful old part of town and an easy walk into the centre which shouldn't be missed. The restaurant downstairs is separate from the hotel with access through individual doors and it served great food at reasonable prices. The staff spoke great English and were happy to assist with anything my German didn't stretch to.
