Wilderness Hotel Muotka & Igloos

The location of this property is its highlight. the breakfast was fine, had one vegetarian options always, apart from the regular stuff like cereals, fruits etc. The letdown is the service. The reception service is very slow and staff seemed as cold as the arctic. Also apart from room charges all things were chargeable. e.g. The Aurora cabin we booked was almost INR 45000 or about 450$$€ a night and we still had to pay 10€ for the Aurora alarm service. There was no kids play area as stated There is no ala carte restaurant at the hotel. Only buffets. Frankly the only highlight was we actually did see the Aurora from the warmth of the room. Also given the remote locations, it would be best to include transfers at extra charges or hire a car to get here. Buses maybe an option, but not really feasible with kids or in this extreme weather. All in all expensive place, great rooms and location, but little else to write about. Would not go again

hotel location is great. but service standards, especially at reception can be improved. also they charge for all things extra e.g. we booked the aurora cabin, but aurora alarm service is chargeable at 10€. for an hotel of this standard, they would probably be better just being all inclusive rather than asking small amounts for this and that.

The stay was very comfortable and the food is very delicious. It’s very easy to see northern lights from the hotel
