A Comfortable Stay
I think the check-in process could be less bureaucratic. The first time a front desk staff required my seventeen-year-old daughter's ID and Tax-ID (???) documents. Really? We have traveled to many spots around the world, and I still can't see the reason behind all that!
My girls ordered room service, but not all menu items were available. However, that was no big deal.
We can consider a real average place to stay, despite being located more than 20 miles from some of the most visited touristic attractions in Rio.
Both rooms were clean.
It's a good tip to stay in Rio in case you intend on spending much of your time outside the room and also attending the Rock-In-Rio.
The wifi didn't work properly sometimes during our stay. Perhaps that was still a consequence of the power supply breakdown that had taken place few days before.

3 weeks in November
Easy check in, Staff used google translate to speak to me which was not an issue.
Rooms: basic and aircon works well. Wouldnt say the pictures match the rooms i saw but never the less cleaned daily and fresh towels available.
Food: Food was decent average price for a hotel. Beef Strog was great and cost around 12 English pounds with a soft drink.
Pool: lifeguard on most days, small, little scruffy but caught the sun most late morning and all afternoon.
Gym: Defo not whats pictured. a bike or two and a few weights.
Location: near the Olympic park and a 10 pounds taxi to Barra Shopping (huge mall) not near much else unfortunately.
Things to do: The hotel organised me the best day trip ive been on. Lapa, sugar loaf cable cars, selaron steps, christ the redeemer, meal on Copacabana, macaron all for 90 quid. best money spent IMO.
There a couple of bars and shops opposite which are very friendly and one for the locals just up the road. Again looks dodgy but very friendly people.

Positives - Staff friendly and helpful, hotel clean and tidy. Cheap.
Negatives - Limited food options, miles from the touristy areas and not in a neighbourhood where you’d be advised to wander about. WiFi sometime unreliable. Surrounded by several unfinished high rise buildings which look like a war zone, and next to derelict land, ideal mosquito breading ground. This is not a tourist hotel, I’d recommend you go elsewhere if you’re an overseas visitor. Small pool and gym.

Great hotel, not that good loc....
The hotel is great in general, staff are polite, it's very clean, beds are very confortable, the breakfast included is great, pool is nice, gym is pretty well equipped. Pity it locates far from the beaches and turistic attractions in Rio. If you rent a car you can take a wrong turn even close to the hotel and end up in a critical location. Also, the pool closing times in the summer is silly, when we went there, it was closing at 18:00, but the staff were telling us to leave at 17:40, we called the manager and the same said they used to close the pool later, but because of bad past experience with guests, they changed it. I would recommend this hotel if you are going in a long holidays because of its confort, but if you are going for just 3 days you are going to be in a hurry everyday travelling to get to visit places. Unless you want just to relax in the hotel for 3 days, then I would recommend it too.
