Ordinary hotel with Awesome st....
I was looking for a hotel easy to find and convenient located near the Italian Consulate.
Price is not bad, considering Rio de Janeiro, but the hotel shows its age. My wife was with me, and just one tiny soap was available in the restroom. Breakfast is not complimentary and can be considered expensive, with limited options.
Valet Parking is available, but it is not part of the hotel facilities. You have to pay separately, but hotel guests have a discount.
The staff is the best part of the hotel. They are very friendly.

Nothing extraordinary about this hotel. In fact, it is a little disappointing that a hotel so close to the Bay has no viewing. Front desk attendants are very kind, my regards to Rachel and Eduardo who were very nice to me on my arrival on Thursday March 29th. For whatever reason the AC grill fell off within the first hours of my staying and Eduardo promptly offered me another room. The hotel is located within walking distance from the airport, which is great. From almost all other tourist points, it's easy enough to just grab an Uber. Downtown is just 5min away, one can even walk there... I enjoyed my stay, would certainly stay there again.

I flew into Santos Dumont and the hotel is situated a couple of hundred metres from the airport.
The hotel is situated in a not too pleasant part of the city with homeless people sleeping near by.
However the hotel is the standard Ibis fare. Rather simple but clean. My room was fine for an individual but maybe a bit cramped for a couple.
I had no complaints. The ac was fine and I had a comfortable stay. I purchased breakfast the next morning for 25 Reais. Once again I found this reasonable value as I ate enough to keep me going until late in the day
I decided to get a taxi to the hotel because of the location 20 reais but in hindsight I think I could comfortably have walked as the area is full of white collar workers.I would not recommend that anybody walk in the area when it gets dark.

A place to stay if you need to....
We came back from Rio and spent a night there after watching a concert at Maracanã stadium. Our flight was VERY early at Santos Dumont therefore it was a convenient place to stay. The plus: walking distance to the airport, really, 7 minutes walk. Downsides: the hotel is wasted, the service was terrible (although the employees were very respectful, it seemed odd in a busy weekend with tournaments and concerts in the city just 2 people at the front desk causing LONG lines to check-in), and the cleaning standard... the area is not a safe one, so just stay there for business or if you handle well big cities.

Unfortunately I had problems with air conditioning which was not working. As I only stayed one night I did not bother to change rooms, because when I realized this problem it was already one o'clock in the morning. My suggestion is that the hotel make an urgent preventive maintenance.
