Stay for the weekend in Curiti....
I stayed in this hotel to visit Curitiba during a weekend. It is a nice place, well located, easy to find and in the center of touristic places.
I liked to stay there. I recommend it for weekend stay.

Good cost benefit
I spent one night with my family.
Althou the hotel is old, the room was nice, and the shower was ok too.
This is one of a few in the region that offer breakfast, fair.
Wifi in the room is 3mb but works just fine.

Good location to visit Curitib....
Good location to get to the centre of town, good beds, international selection for breakfast (different fruit, cakes, eggs, sausages, toasts, juices). Very helpful receptionist at midnight when we arrived and all staff attentive and helpful. We appreciated a lift for disabled persons/ wheelchair so we did not have to climb steps.

Value for the money vs. Great ....
This is another of those reviews where I debate evaluating this hotel in a purist sense on quality and service or I balance that against the money value of the property. I guess I should start by saying that I'm a rather simple lower-budget kind of traveler who is happy with a somewhat clean room, a hot shower, and no bugs.
I traveled through Curitiba in September, which is the off-season of springtime in Southern Brazil so the rates for lower. For $28//night, the hotel met expectations. Had it been $60-$70/night, I'd have a much different opinion.
Here's the story. Despite Booking.com's description that Portugese and English were spoken at the hotel, I couldn't find anyone in the entire hotel, including the front desk and the tourist desk in the lobby, who spoke English. That's OK. I often travel without that benefit and I always have a Plan B to cope, which I did.
When I checked in, I made it clear that I was looking for a convenience store nearby to buy wine or beer or snacks. While the manager insisted that it was miles away to find such a place, I discovered a Walmart 2 blocks up the street and a convenience store 1 block down the street. He wanted me to go upstairs to the hotel restaurant to buy wine/beer.
The hotel is certainly dated and I always marvel at the disparity between the pictures on the website and actuality. As an older hotel, everything is simple and utilitarian and always in need of work. The toilet had difficulty flushing all the way and door handles and plumbing fixtures were loose. The 5th floor room on the front of the building is not a good place to be because of the noise; however, this is a typical $28/night room. Breakfast is the usual experienced everywhere in Brazil and is adequate, particularly since it's included in the room rate.
I will say that hotel staff was more than accommodating when I changed my travel plans to stay an extra night (I hate to move hotels). They were mostly booked but they gave me another night at the same rate which I appreciated.
Again, the hotel was adequate for the cost but not the kind of room you'd enjoy occupying if you weren't out exploring or touring all day.
