Small hotel with atmosphere bu....
We stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. First of all, we had a problem finding a parking lot Thursday night. The hotel is old but very nice. The lady at the reception was very friendly. The room was great and nice, but the bed was not very comfortable, and the washbasin in the bathroom was cracked. Toiletries were of good quality (Loccitane). Minibar was not complete. The worst for me was the dog biting, which belonged to the owner.
Breakfast was very good, there was something for everyone.
The place was about 5-10 minutes walk from the U3 subway.

Very good !!!
According to the rules, this is a 3 star hotel. But according to the experience of staying there I would say they earn at least 4 stars.
The building is a beautiful old, renovated structure, with high ceilings, wide staircases and double windows.
The rooms are very spacious, the beds very comfortable, with multiple pillows (soft, firm, big, small). Bathrooms are modern, showers very good (hot and good waterpressure). And very important: everything is spotless.
Available: kettle, tv, bathroom slippers, toilettries etc.
Breakfast is really good, with fresh produce from the area. There is a very friendly women taking your orders for tea/coffee, eggs and anything you would like.
The breakfast room has a nice atmosphere, with the right combination of new and old things.
The owners of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. They assist you with anything: parking, public transport, sightseeing, general information. Just ask them and they will do their utmost.
Highest floor is the third floor; hotel has a lift. Hotel is entirely non-smoking!
We will definitely return!!

A decent place to stay
If you are on business or touristing in Vienna. Conveniently close to tram and subway lines. Their breakfast buffet is very decent as well, and I would give them a "good" instead of an average if TripAdvisor had it...

1 night in Vienna...
I stayed at the Hotel Schwalbe for 1 night for work (business trip). I absolutely love this hotel because it wasn't another faceless corporate chain. The staff were very friendly. I was made to feel at home - a real home away from home.
They lent me a copy of an English language Lonely Planet. They recommended areas to visit, things to see and do and restaurants to eat. They lent me an umbrella for my meeting because it was raining.
The room was huge and felt more like an apartment than an hotel room.

Avoid this hotel at any cost!
After a day of long trip when my wife and I arrived at this hotel, we were told that we have to share the toilet with other rooms which was quite shocking considering the price range. When we expressed our discontent and asked to change the room calmly, the lady at the reception ‘Felicia’ picked up the phone and called booking.com and canceled out reservation in a very hostile manner. She just got ballistic for no reason whatsoever.
So, we were kicked out of the hotel in the middle of night!
Luckily we found a four star hotel in Vienna’s best neighbourhood for less money.
