Perfect location, clean and co....

It's nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Because we were in Ushuaia for a family emergency and it was high season, we ended up staying in 3 different hotels: Cap Polonio, the Hotel Lennox next door, and the Hotel Tierra del Fuego. Cap Polonio was the most basic but the best value. The included breakfast was almost exactly the same at all three -- coffee, juice, cold cereal, ham & cheese, and 6 or 7 types of very sweet bread and cake. The staff was very kind and helpful in finding a way to give us two more nights in a different room. Our first room opened onto a pleasant courtyard. Our second room was in front, which had a lot of street noise. It was a Saturday night with nice weather so lots of people were out until late. It wasn't a problem for us, but would definitely be for some. The wi-fi wasn't great. It went in and out in the rooms, but it worked fine in the lobby and cafe, where there's plenty of room to sit. The location is very central. There are dozens of restaurants and shops in easy walking distance.

No real complaints and the staff were very helpful. The walls are a bit thin though and it got a bit noisy when the exhaust fan on the kitchen started up. Comfortable bed, hot shower and decent breakfast made up for that though.

Bit overpriced for an ok hotel

I booked this hotel because of its location right in the centre and based on photos. It is perfect for location and indeed the rooms are pleasant. But I suspect if you use a booking site, you get the worst rooms. I opened the curtains to find I was looking at the elevator shaft and the kitchen cooking shaft. Hardly any light filtered in. My bed was comfortable but no chair to hang clothes on. Bathroom was tiny tho it had a bidet. My knees touched the bath when I sat on the toilet. Ample hot water but was almost boiling which could be dangerous to children. I would open my window for fresh air to get noises from the kitchen as well as the ventilator noise and smells. Then to cap it all, children were in the rooms opposite and one evening ran around and banged on their doors. I had to go out twice to ask them to stop. Where were the parents? I mentioned to reception who said to come to them if it happened again. I did mention how disappointed I was with the room. I stayed 5 nights so thought a better room should have been offered. But seems nothing was free. The cafe downstairs is very popular which is another reason I booked. Breakfast was fine and plentiful. If you book here make sure you ask for an outside room.

Best Location

The Hotel has nothing special, but the staff is really friendly and the service is good. Since is in the middle of the main street, you wont need a car to get something to eat or shop. Breakfast is average, but they have several paid options that are really good.

Good value for money and a gre....

The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean , a little dated and the bathroom a tiny , but who spends a lot of time there on holidays. The breakfasts are adequate to start you of on a days adventure of this beautiful part of the world.
