Likeable, modern hosteria; cle....
Foike is towards the top of the hill at the west end of town, so it's about a 10 minute walk into the centre, in a quiet location. It makes for a steep walk back, but if that's not a problem, then I suggest it's worth a look. It's a modern environment, less noisy than most of the other places we stayed in Argentina and Chile, with ample, big, clean rooms, with a functional bathroom (although my shower filled with water and took some time to drain), and a very comfortable, large bed. The reception staff were charming, and very helpful to guests. It does have a lift although if you need this to go up and down one floor, you might struggle with the hill. But helpful with heavy bags. They have an honour bar in reception and average quality breakfast. I see others had a free transfer from the airport. Definitely worth considering...

Modest but pleasant and friend....
After travelling overland through Chile and Argentina we spent two nights here. Our bed was large and comfortable, which was important to us because we needed some recovery time. The room and bathroom was adequate rather than attractive. The staff were charming and helpful. The downside to this hosteria's location was the fairly long slog to and from the main shopping street, but the upside of this was that the hosteria was nice and quiet.

Nice place, it could be better....
I've been 2 nights at the hosteria.
As the service includes transfer from he airport, I didn't have any trouble to get there.
About the location, it's a bit far from the center, but it's not so killing to get there. A taxi could cost you about ARG 30.00 from hosteria to the center.
In winter can be so difficult due to frost, but a little workout doesn't harm. Also I have to add that the view is amazing.
On the other hand, and I was surprise about this matter, that's you can hear from other rooms because walls are so thin. So please, be quiet and don't fight.
Another point is that wifi worked all the time.

A good night's sleep
An intriguing little hotel with the added bonus of a free transfer from the airport.
The hotel itself is a tad jaded, nevertheless it has lots of quirky character. Checking in was painless, but beware there are no lifts! BUT our bags were carried up to the second floor for us.
It's within walking distance of the centre, but there are steep hills to climb to get back again.
The breakfast was a superb continental style buffet with the facility to poach your own eggs in the microwave.

Small, quiet and scenic
Foike is a bit out of town- up on the hill it's about a 10 min walk to town....going down is Ok, but coming home can be challenging on icy cold, windy days.
Staff were friendly and very lovely. Only really saw them at breakfast and check in time. It's a very small palce, more a B&B than hotel.
Room was clean and quite small. Bathrooms a bit dated, but they work and have great hot water. Lots of powerpoints to charge gadgets. Oh and there's a lift to transport your bags!
Walls are very thin- could hear everything from neighbouring rooms... we had a child in room next door who skyed his mum a lot and we could hear it all.
Other than that, sleep quality is good and rooms quiet at night. Bed was comfy. Best nights sleep I've had all trip. Doona is awesome....so warm! There are spare pillows and blankets in cupboard too.
As a side note- the heater in bathroom is great to dry wet socks/undies....even though they don't want it used that way.
Breakfast is basic- toast, cereal, juice, coffee.... if hungry there are lots of bakeries in town. There's a nice lounge area too where you can sit and enjoy the view.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.
