I have been there in 2014 during the World Cup in Brazil. So, this hostel is excellent. It's located at Calle Florida. I had a great time there with my friends. The bedrooms are nice, the breakfast was ok. There is a bar there to get in contact with people from different nationalities. Also, the staff was great and the colors of the place is really cool.

old, worn down, dishonest host....
i decided to come back after a good experience at this hostal a few years ago, to my dismay found out it's now become a total ruin. We quickly left and found a much better place nearby after 1 short night there.
In short, reception jacked up the price and didn't honour the price clearly posted in huge letters on the board. The shower doesn't work. Room is tiny and dirty (we had a private room in upper floor). Air conditioning doesn't work. Very dusty and dirty everywhere.
The only good point is it's quite centrally located (noisy street), and the oranges at breakfast are tasty.

It is not sophisticated, but close to the best places in Buenos Aires. The Staff is simply the best. I recommend it for a few days. The breakfast is very good for the price. The room was cleaned everyday.

Great value in a good location
Moved here because another Hostel Suites location nearby took our reservation but couldn't accommodate us. This place was proactive in reaching out and I was impressed. For what worked out to be less than $100 over two nights, great private double room with ensuite. Clean, with AC, quiet and safe. Busy street by day but quiet at night though safe. Easy walking distance to many BA sites and the subway. Friendly but a little standoffish front desk staff (especially the two who clearly were making bedroom plans for later!), but happy to help when asked. Didn't take advantage of the common areas but looked good. 24/7 security was nice. Strong wifi.

Didn't get one good night's sl....
I don't know if we caught the hostel on a bad week but there was very little positive about the place.
Firstly, none of the staff were friendly or even gave a hint of a smile for the duration of our 4-night stay, except maybe the man collecting tickets for breakfast in the morning. I should note that while my travelling companion was waiting around the corner for the airport shuttle when she left, one receptionist did run down to tell us that the bus had been delayed. This was appreciated.
Generally, it was very hard to get a good night's sleep here. The air conditioner was extremely noisy so we had to keep it turned off on very humid nights. The noise of the lift/elevator seemed to echo through the whole building. On top of this, other guests were just generally noisy in the corridors, having late night chats and what sounded like them kicking step ladders around. I'm a heavy sleeper and this was the first time in 2 months travelling in South America that I woke up feeling tired.
On the day we checked into our twin room there were dried blood splatters on my duvet. The reception staff did get me a replacement but, true to character, made me feel awkward for pointing it out. The lift was out of service two of the mornings we stayed, meaning we had to walk down 8 flights of stairs to get out.
Some positives about the place: Great location and good showers. Breakfast was fine but I did get reprimanded for trying to take one banana out of the breakfast room with me before eventually being allowed. Suffice to say I wouldn't stay again, though.
I did extend my time in Buenos Aires but moved to nearby Portal Del Sur, which is cheaper, a lot more pleasant and has extremely friendly staff.
