Khiva Residence Hotel

Stayed 2 nights in the beautiful Khiva Residence Hotel. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Nice elaborate breakfast spread but very little choice for non beef eaters like us. No items with chicken on both days. Eggs were our go to on both days. It's just a 5mt walk to the north gate of the walled city of Khiva. Housekeeping didn't do our room in spite of hanging the 'clean our room' sign outside door. When they did, it was a shoddy job. Didn't clean tea cups though we had rinsed. Didn't bother to replace tea bags, etc. It's difficult to communicate each thing over phone to reception as language is a problem. So we had to go down to the reception. Asked for an ironing board as our laundry was not ironed, though they charged us for it. It never arrived! But having said that it is a good choice to stay in Khiva with local eateries and supermarkets nearby. Maybe poor service with us was a one off case.
