Holiday Inn Express Munising-Lakeview, an IHG Hotel

Stayed in this property for 2 nights during our visit to Munising. This is one of the more expensive properties in the area and charges a huge premium for its location (right on Lake Superior). Had paid the premium with the intent of enjoying the view, etc. However, was quite disappointed with the ground floor room allocated for our stay. Despite request the management refused to change the room to a higher floor. The hotel informed that the ground floor preference was actually given by MMT in their communication. Additionally, the rooms were quite average for the cost. Though there was regular housekeeping, it lacked the freshness with some kind of a smell which we couldn’t figure out, probably because of the age of the property. The Breakfast was reasonable with some basic spreads of food/ beverage. The staff was courteous.
