Mediocre room in an apparently....

This apparently 3-stars hotel was offering a single room at an affordable fare (yet a bit more expensive than other options in Zaragoza) I choosed it, trusting to the three stars, and deception! First, the room was not soundproof at all, I heard the neighbor snorring all night. Second, this particular room has definitely some problems, there was a strong smell from the toilet during the night. I believe that I would sleep etter and pay less in another hotel or guesthouse.

Well located hotel with very n....

I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2015. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere. I had a very nice room with spacious bathroom (large shower). At the reception I got extra tips of spots to visit, shops to find, addresses of restaurants, great! Breakfast was sufficient. The hotel is very well situated in the city center, GOYA (underground) train station at 3' walk, other public transport at the Gran Vía itself. If you like to walk you can easily go on foot to the old city center (La Seo, El Pilar, el Ebro, ...). If you like nature, take the train at the Goya station, directly to Canfranc rail station at the border with France (google it !!). Astonishing views are awaiting you during this (one day) trip. The Hotel Gran Vía is a hotel I shall return to soon.

Well located, well presented l....

Our experience of this hotel was entirely positive. Of particular note was the friendly approach of all the staff we encountered - at reception, at breakfast, and also the very helpful cleaning ladles. The hotel is well located, a short taxi ride from the main station, and is well served by public transport. The room was smallish, but the bathroom was excellent, with a large shower - most welcome after a hot day's travel.

acceptable hotel

Stayed a few nights, April 2015. Room clean, staff helpful, price reasonable, room rather small. Minimum breakfast. there is public transit at the door and a small sidewalk café service. This hotel is close to the university, a bit far from the train and other attractions

Spain's ultimate faulty towers

We were initially delighted to be given a suite, only to find that this was in a sectioned off part of the hotel you had to enter through an antechamber. A lift took us to another building, we felt like we were in some sort if cryptic maze which if disoriented in a fire would never have found our wAy out of. Saturday night in this part of Zaragoza was full of rebel raisers who kept shouting till the wee small hours. Next morning trying to get get out of the old part of the hotel confirmed our worse fears and the doors would not budge. We eventually found our way out through the stairwell, but had visions of being found months later in a state of decay having been locked behind this bizarre barricade of doors. Not happy! We were moved to another "normal room" in the "regular" part of the hotel, with noisy air conditioning to match the rebel raisers, and a shower which needed an engineering degree to work out how it worked. This was actually broken, but we managed in time to fix it ourselves! To top it off the final insult was being charged 3.2 euros for 2 packets of stale cornflakes which were not part of the breakfast deal. They did not even have bowls to serve them in, or know that they needed milk. We were given 2 mugs with milk for us to eat the cereal out of! This was the hotel from hell, but I guess they are out there, and can happily report that it did not mar our experience of Zaragoza, or other areas in Spain, because most other places were modern and pleasant. Hotel Gran Via needs to be demolished. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the yucky stake cigarette smoke smell which seemed to permeate through the air conditioning into every crevice.
